Sure a small proportion OWNED slaves but when you consider the size of some plantations and the amount of people and jobs it takes keep one running you start to see how the economy around it works. You need people to look after the slaves and enforce ownership over them, slaving was an industry and if you trained your slaves to be artisans you'd be able to make more out of selling them so you'd have people training them, its all jobs that are propped up by the whole operation. And then if slaves ran away you had a completely separate trade of people who were experts at finding and returning them to their owners.

It was probably waaaay more expensive to keep a slave Plantation running than it is to have a field of Tomato Picking Beaners today. You don't have to pay anyone to catch the beaners if they run away because another will replace them instantly.

1) "trickle down economics" is a leftoid strawman shat out by economically illiterate retards who don't understand how money works and/or bootlicker/authoritarian shitheads butthurt that big daddy government is raping the private sector with taxes and regulations.
What you are thinking of is supply-side economics, and considering most businesses in the US are and have been small businesses, is far from a rich-people-only concept.

2) The (stupid) idea that all white people benefit from America is based more in "sociological" concepts; i.e. that whites weren't discriminated against historically therefore gained better economic standing, ergo all benefits left by white parents to their children & grandchildren were a result of "white supremacy".
