So, the DLC trailer for TDA has dropped, and will arrive in July.

some notes:
- the main combat gimmick seems to be adding more options to the left hand, instead of having just the shield you can have a spear (kino) and/or a meathook stand-in
- no second class for the chainshot :(
- classic levels from 2016 are returning
- will include "flashbacks" to the events prior to Doom TDA, so we'll see how the slayer arrives on Argent D'nur I guess. I would like it if they made the nu-doom completely separate from the classic canon.
- There's seemingly even less focus on skins/customization (I think this is good)
- it seems the canon name for the slayer is Flynn Taggart

You can parry with the spear, which seems pointless when there's also a dash now.

far as I'm concerned, they should just go ahead and say "classic doom is it's own thing, this is our take on it" with this DLC
Yeah, but I suspect they'll just make the Doom 64 ending canon, and that's how the Doomguy eventually made his way into whatever the fuck nu-Argent thing they have going here. It certainly was implied as much as early as 2016 anyway.

Well that's pretty much what 2016 implied and eternal explicitly stated. I more so just take issue with how Eternal's lore recontextualizes a lot of things (not in a good way) and tries to exist in the same "canon" as Classic Doom. I think I said this earlier, but I think it's more fitting that classic doomguy is still DM'ing in Quake III.

lmao? It's a nice nod to the Doom novelization for sure, but now I want to know if they're bringing that whole mad novel canon into their nuDoom thing or not.
Idk I for one hope that doomguy is confirmed a Mormon, routinely reads the bible for guidance, and converts a Mancubus he meets to the religion and calls him Fats McGee
