Doomguy 2000 is an exceptional individual, better known for making pretty bad Doom mods, and getting banned by pretty much all major Doom forums for his behavior, to the point of being mocked by 4ch's /vr/, he calls all his critics "cowardly haters", showing that he's uncapable of handling criticism, and over the years after being banned from Doomworld and other communities he made his own forums where he constantly whines about Doomworld constantly (showing that he just can't let it go), he's egotistical to the point of writing his own article about him on the DoomWiki, and showing up every time someone is mocking him on the internet, he has a Youtube account where he uploads videos about his masterpieces and his rants against other people.

1.) the title to this thread alone makes me happy to be on this forum

2.) that first video is AMAZING because aside from having a truly bizarre body proportion issue, the way he's sitting in combination with the camera angle makes him look like some heavily narcissistic internet sperg-God. Like a reverse Buddha or something.

Sweet, a Doom aspie.

As someone who has hung around the Doom modding scene (don't make them, though I do haunt those communities since I love playing them), they are a surprisingly high standards community and value quality in your mods, not acting like a sperg, and being receptive to criticism.

This guy has already made an instant lolcow of himself to Doom's community because:

1. You speedrun by exploiting stock glitches or map oversights. Cheating does NOT qualify and only makes you look like a scrub.

2. Doom modders value quality level design and "mature" (as in, you aren't vulgar for the sheer hell of it) use of obscene content (like the Doom mod Kama Sutra, which has some art from the sex manual of the same name but is liked because the modder isn't an asshat and the level design in it is pretty good). Spamming obscenity to be an edgelord is generally shit on.

3. This jackass does a shitload of whining on his site about the Doom community not liking his edgelord bullshit and love of titties in his games, and shits on the Cacoawards, the holy grail of the Doom modding scene simply because his levels suck ass. On the first, see #2 why they hate this sort of stupid shit, and on the second, guy uses randomizers (programs that autogenerate Doom levels), and while accepted for casual fans and beginning modders (who usually use these as templates to hand craft them into something more interesting), veterans require you take some pride in your work and hand crafting everything from the ground up using quality modding practices is highly regarded. Also, the Cacoawards are, as I said, THE holy grail, and being a butthurt asshole over not getting one makes you a mewling pussy in the eyes of any Doom modder with a shred of dignity.

It's a definite joke .wad that's purposely bad and "OMG SO RANDOM XD!!", but there's a certain charm to them like Inner Circle shitpost threads here : they're technically meant to be "bad", but there's a level of subtlety that either makes a joke .wad enjoyable or exceedingly tryhard.

The joke mods like this live or die based on their shock value, or rather how enjoyable people find the memes contained within. The gameplay itself is usually at best a second or third consideration and joke .wads often have repetitive gameplay or unfair difficulty for the hell of it because there isn't even an attempt to make these "good". I think one of the best ways of describing these joke .wads is that they're SA/4chan shitposting threads in shooter form.

DOOM seems to attract these kinds of people because on the surface it is the perfect franchise for edgy young teenagers who are trying desperately to prove how grown up they are. That being said, I think even they have their own pet lolcows like this guy and @x86x2 so maybe they're not all bad. But I've seen more spergery from the DOOM community than one would expect, especially on Doomguy2000's hated Doomworld.

I've been digging up this guy in an attempt to understand him a little better and i found this:

Doomguy 2000 (D2K from now on because i'm lazy) initially made his magnum opus, "Doomguy's Warzone" back in 2010, after being "inspired" by such mods like "Aeons of Death", which was a weapon and enemy randomizer that was very popular back then, "Doomguy's Warzone" however was poorly made, most of it's resources and code were stolen from other mods and games, and overall it was unbalanced as fuck, the ZDoom forums ripped it apart and at the beginning he didn't seem too agressive towards criticism, that was until the "2010 Cacowards" came and gave "Aeons of Death" the "Worst Wad Award", in which the paragraph written for the award there was a mention of "Doomguy's Warzone", this made D2K realize that he can become "popular" by just making garbage:

Maybe Scuba Steve has a good point but then again my wad was worse but there has to have been a good reason as to why he choose AEOD over my wad. It's awesome that my mod was mentioned so when people want to read the cacowards for years to come they may be curious as to why my so called rip off of AEOD project is probably the worst of these kind of mods. The criticism does however inspire me to come out with a gold edition of Doomguy's Warzone. Instead of trying to make it good I'm going to try to make it worse.

D2K probably thinks that any publicity is good publicity, which lead to him becoming an insufferable sperg on every single forum he was in, and whining every time his "work" got torn apart by the rest of the community, he's convinced that everyone is just jealous of him, that his mods being discussed over better ones makes everyone mad, and this behavior hasn't changed too much to this day, when you see him on his forums still complaining against sites like Doomworld.
