Theres better reason for that. Doom is open source. You want to see whats inside, you can? Need a visual representation of whats going on under the hood? Just printscreen a chunk of code, no infringement there, no need to make a disclamer that everytging in the video is for educational purposes, that will probablt get ignored anyway, landing you a copyright strike. My main horse is NuggetDoom (𝔑𝔲𝔤𝔤𝔢𝔱 𝔊𝔞𝔫𝔤 𝔯𝔦𝔰𝔢 𝔲𝔭) but if a mod or game requires GZDoom then I use it reluctantly. With honesty, it's down to what the mod requires and if I feel like it. An example I have is Heartland. A mod that requires Eternity.
Sorry to disappoint you, but DB seems to be on its way out. If you've followed the thread and checked the past few pages, you'll notice that 40oz has been actively hostile to his own userbase and betrayed them. The list of contributors is going down and the userbase is shrinking.
Damn I was wondering why I there weren't alot of recognizable mappers in DBP lately. Really is kind of heartbreaking to see how splintered every single doom community has gotten. I genuinely don't know if I should be glad that I remain unaware of the stuff happening on the inside of the communities or just disappointed that it just keeps happening.

The only problem with Serious Sam's source code is that it's an absolute nightmare to figure out because of whatever Balkan wizardry that Croteam used when designing the engine.
Whenever I play Doom every now and then, I also use Crispy or Woof depending on the map, I just like using anything that makes the game feel retro or like vanilla, minus the limited framerate. I've tried to use Eternity, but there's some things about it that feels off compared to other source ports, such as the mouse movement despite me trying to configure it to my liking. I also don't like trying to navigate it's menu, it somehow feels more convoluted then ZDoom/GZDoom.
