It's more egregious because he brings up Citadel at the Edge of Eternity, a large and detailed map he rightfully excoriated prior for being a grindy, unfun testicle smasher. He knows Magikal isn't going to rise from the dead to call out his conflict of interest. Gene Bird isn't going to come back after nearly a quarter century with an autistic cancel mob for having his forgettable (but far more playable) maps flamed. The people DoD regularly talks to, on the other hand? They will. Anyone with familiarity with specific names on DW knows that, but admitting to it and having those dynamics known to outsiders means they can't pretend to be neutral tastemakers instead of spergs with queen bee syndrome.
