Well, the way i started sure is stupid but here's some actual drama.
Sometime, during may, i had an idea of making a sequel to the Memento Mori WADs, and wanted to title it Memento Mori 3 . Here's the result.

The name of the project almost instantly caught ire of people who have more fame and years of service in the community. The message i got was "No fun allowed!". As they started posting their very important opinions, which everyone cares about. Saying i shouldn't steal titles, and that i'am too unexperienced to do something like that, lack of expereince doesn't stop troons though. This summary is probably redundant, read the thread in case you wanna.
After that my team and i decided to change the name to "Memento Mori Ressurected", people approved of it, but i felt that we as a team, should set some boundaries. A month passed, many people just went inactive for no reason (those who joined through other discord servers, not DW) and the production pace came to a crawl, after some time the work continued normally and with even more people involved. At that time i had a chat with 4 of my close DW acquaintance, and we decided that renaming the project back to MM3 won't be that bad. we we're dead wrong. I wrote:"Gotcha suckers! We're reverting the changes of the CP title,it's now back to MM3! If that bothers you,you can sue me,find me by my IP adresss and publicly birate me. Message from the team:"We do not care"." Because pandering to some eltitsts isn't something enjoyable. The mod's considered that """trolling""" and banned me(this thing can be seen as a mediocre trolling attemtp, but that stretches the definiton of trolling). Along with a guy who was my friend, known there as "Sr_ludicolo" posted:

And then the project started tumbling down, people went inactive, some people left. And very recently i got banned again for saying meanie things about someone's another shitty vanilla WAD. MM3 finally got cancelled, sad face. Then, Ludicolo created this thread.

Which was a rundown of things that caused MM3 to fail. Then the fact that i got banned came up. Which laps back to the comment Ludicolo made on the original MM3 thread. This fucking dude started lying about how he would've never let shit like that slip through and other bullshit. Then Doomkid lied about me mocking the Ukraine situation and Ludicolo doubled down and cut all ties with me in a twitter user fashion. Just read the thread and you'll get the memo.
This the most retarded drama i have ever participated in. I guess that's the way DW is now. All i learned from this is that Doom's community doesn't reflect the game, it's better to just not interact with it.

As someone who has past experience working with Doomkid, I can 100% back up what you're saying about him being a liar/manipulator/general douche.
Some time ago I was working with him on a community project he was largely spearheading, of which I was tasked with doing a few of the MIDIs along with a few others.
I was working on my last track (that also had the most work put into it by a large proportion) and decided to send Doomkid a demo (bad mistake) just to give him an idea I was almost done and to keep the project deadline just a bit further as I needed to get back to IRL things (of which I told him) and that I'd finish it soon. All of this he agreed upon in PMs.
Fast-forward to maybe two weeks afterwards and I come back to comments from him on the main thread stating he "had my unfinished MIDI" and needed someone to "fix it/finish it" quickly as he was abruptly pushing the deadline closer for some reason.
A few guys came forward and added about 10 seconds worth of music to "finish" my track and took essentially ALL the credit for said track after posting the "finalized" song. I was unable to get through because the project was deemed "finished" and it would just look bad on my part.
Doomkid never consulted me through any PM's or @'s asking for my permission that they could tinker with my song in that short span of time.
There's been very few times I went irate from something online (because frankly, in 99% of cases there's no reason to be when it doesn't affect you), but when you have something you worked on for several hours get taken from you and messed with without your consent and you end up NOT taking credit for it, you end up very salty to say the very least.

Well in the meantime here's some depressing news I've learned of today.
Wad Archive is shutting down.
Creator is unmotivated and sees no point to even keep going with it, so he'll have some files for people to download to host sites for the stuff themselves, rather than handing the website out to people.
Until then I guess I'll try and get some maps I find intresting and hold on to them or rely on idgames again.

I'm not in the doom community and have never been but even I heard of that time some kid tried to make Plutonia 3 (and it sucked, duh) and the community chastised him for it. With good reason. Here's my take: make your own original wad ideas without copying from other authors.
