>NP universal
oh yes
Is that even gonna be good for him? They just nerfed universal stat gain by like 40%. Nature was always a hero grabbing stuff like chain lightning, crit, and deso items which don't have main stats on them. Orchid had at least Intel on it, bkb a tiny bit of strength.

I didn't play np meta 10 years ago and I'm not playing him meta now

Nature's is still depressing to play and I'm very sad.

Back when he was good, he had two things going for him:
(1) rat doto was still a thing,
(2) he could buy item counters for every hero.

the #2 is a bigger issue than #1. I used to intentionally pick NP into Spirit Breaker (at that time his hardest counter) and learn how to play around him so that nobody could counter me. In fact, Spirit was such a quintessential counter pick to Nature's that if I picked Nature's it almost guaranteed that someone would pick Spirit, only to lose because they didn't really know how to play Spirit and I knew how to play against him.

I just had a game against a Timbersaw and no such item counters exist. Timber is such a hard counter with absolutely no counterplay unless you draft against him.

Yeah I wouldn't want to play NP vs a Timber. As for items, there are some counters, but the Timbersaw himself also has items to counter your counter so to say. Mainly Lotus Orb.
Skadi and Spirit Vessel counter his life regen, Scythe and Rod could pin him down or disable his passive, Silver Edge prevents him from getting more stacks as well if you use it at the beginning of the fight. Diffusal might burn some extra mana to prevent his combos.

But I guess all of those items are not really ideal for an NP to build? I dunno. Plus, Timber can always just dispell most debuffs with a Lotus Orb, or use Blademail and win trades with his defense and Health pool being larger than NP's.

I think if you were fighting Timber as a NP you would probably build to counter him killing you, rather than reverse. Cause yeah... that is a rough matchup.
However it shouldn't be your job, hopefully your team has some kinda timber answer and you can fuck over the other 4 heroes.

And while rat dodo is more or less dead, you can still be an annoying thorn and rat like T2 and T1 towers. Gain enjoyment over making the map your bitch (and pissing off the enemy)

You will never be an Ancient.

Hopefully not too off-topic, but is anybody going to play HoN: Reborn?
TLDR: HoN is relaunching later this year.
  • As many know the original HoN shut down in 2022.
  • Now, many of the original devs are relaunching the original game with a new engine and updated graphics.
  • Apparently it is launched on a new platform called iGames (not sure if this means it will be on steam or not) - but this is apparently a platform made by the dev team (Kongor Studios).
  • They claim the game is already fully funded, but it is possible to contribute with different tiers for in-game rewards (like in the original with gold names but also alt-avatars).
  • They say that 80+ heroes will be available at launch (AFAIK there were 139 at the end in HoN)
  • Planned timeline:
    • Spring 2025 - closed alpha
    • Summer 2025 - closed beta
    • Fall 2025 - open beta
    • Winter 2025 - game launch
Personally I am not playing, but only because I already lost 2-3 good years of my life to the original game; to me it was even more addicting than Vanilla WoW.

But I am curious if anybody on this sub is going to try it later this year, or if people are strictly sticking to Dota.

Edit: TLDR

I have had nothing even coming close to a good or fun match in a week since I tried playing again. Genuinely not even approaching a reasonable game. It's all Turbo but I can't justify 60 minutes sitting still anymore. Normal games are too long and turbo games are just absolute one sided matches over and over again without any reprieve.

Bradley Dragon
Holy shit he's still guardian four years later. I'm curious how he has an audience because no one is going to watch a player at that rank unless they've got a following from elsewhere, or are a cow and the entourage are hatewatchers. Is he a notable furry or something?

yeah idk, I think he's a furry, I'm not autistic enough to know, I also stopped watching/following him around when it came out that he was into incest and he allegedly did some 'stuff' with his family members.

Anyone played Supervive? I know a TF2 designer that got poached by Riot (then fired lol) did character designs for it, and it looks interesting.

supervive seems really cool, too bad I don't think it's going to survive long, the game already has sub 1k players on steam

If you're gonna play turbo a ton, you'll need to understand a few things. The first thing is that for the most part, turbo sucks. Most of your games are gonna be total trash because of how important the hero picks are for it. 60-70% of the time, one of the teams is gonna pick 3 support, which will ruin the game for that team.

Turbo has meta that revolves on how it's fast xp and gold. Because of that, heroes that scale non-stop are the best in the game mode and heroes that fall off or have extremely long cooldowns are do not pick heroes. Rat heroes aren't that great because of how most games with end in 15-20 mins. Brood and Lone Druid are next to useless since brood falls off and Druid requires too much itemization. Games are too short to rat. Nature is fine since he's great at ambushing and can deal a ton of damage.

Sniper, Drow, PA, Ursa, and currently DK are "pick em or ban em" heroes, because they scale well above every other hero in the mode. In a normal game, you can harass these heroes out of the game, but here they just need 1 good fight to completely turn the game around. Notice anything about those 4 heroes? They're high damage and have ways to either stay out of combat or are tanky af. Chip damage shit doesn't do well in turbo because of it. So, your team that picked 3 fucking support will get stomped when they're facing something mid game with actual damage like Outworld, Weaver, or Shadow fiend. Also teams have the tendency to pick mostly magic damage heroes, which is an extremely bad idea since all magic resist items and bkb are easy to get due to the fast gold.

Nooooo don't tell him!
Complaining about toxicity and lack of balance when playing fucking turbo is incredibly funny, let him continue for a bit more.

I don't have fucking time to play normal. If normal games were shorter I'd play them. I do not have an uninterruptible 45 minutes to 70 minutes to sit down at a time.
I've had some atrocious 60 minute matches recently, pushing uphill is miserable, they really need to tone down glyph.
Turbo has the most toxic niggerhell players for some reason, and totally unbalanced since farm priority goes out the window.
If you want easy turbo wins in current year, play "support which could be an incredibly strong carry but farms too slow for ranked games and can't itemize a farming item" as pos 4 and go carry build, like Muerta.
