"Doxing" in 2025

Doxxing, under UK law and EU law to my knowledge, includes gathering of information on someone in one place in order to intimidate or harass them. As such most threads here would be considered doxxing by threat of intimidation and all U.K and EU users making OPs have been at legal risk for some time but many aren't doxxed themselves so don't care or are ignorant as to the law. In the U.S, if a cow obtained legal office, including a school board position, they would be able to file a complaint with the feds against the farms and the FBI will act. I had a local cow do that to me. It's unfortunate but that is the reality. I'm sure those who aren't familiar with the laws will give me hats into oblivion for this but it is what it is toobz

I seems to me that the word "hacker" has successfully been reclaimed from the journalists. Although it's still legally defined as a criminal thing, many programmers happily describe themselves as hackers and I don't see normies recoiling in fear when they hear that anymore.

idk if that can be done for doxing, much fewer people love doxing than hacking, but it's a possibility.
Hacking was cleaned up by the media, not by the hackers themselves. There had to be a word to describe this specific activity when done by "good guys", and the media settled on "hacking".

When the media doxxxes people, they call it journalism. They won't clean up a word that means "investigation done by people who hate professional journalists", they hate you back.

If we aren't going to use doxxing anymore then I'm going to bring back the old ip2 thread term that was coined by @shawnphase

I second this. Anyway, that said, i got a pair of her panties, shitstains included, that anyone might wish to buy can purchase in a bidding war which begins at 250 bones, it ends nov 20th, before caroline burt gets in town and we hang out. this bounty will fund our hangingz. i want anything of her outta my life and biz before then or they go in the trash.

I don't think that changing the word that we use for doxing will do much, if at all, to change the perception of Kiwifarms amongst normies. We shouldn't attempt to appease those who refused to dig deeper into the Kiwifarms quesiton and instead only rely on MSM for their perception of it. In fact, leaning into the whole "KIWIFARMS IS LITERALLY A TRANNY KILLER HARRASSMENT FACTORY" angle may be better for comedic purposes.
Its less about changing the perception of kiwifarms and more about pointing out hypocrisy. Tons of groups and sites practice doxing by any other name. Can't accuse kiwifarms of being uniquely bad if it uses the same name as all the other groups that do the same shit do.

I think something which is always said passively could be funny:

1. "PII Accident" - "LFJ had a PII Accident on KiwiFarms when someone leaked that Troons XVideos account"
2. "Made Famous" - "Bish Imma Holla, U needa be made Famous on KiwiFarms? SUFFAH!"

Something insultingly counterintuitive could be fun as well, such as "His information was Safeguarded on a thread".

Edit - Another one which would be good is if we enhance doxxed to make it KF-specific:

3. "Joxxed" - "The owner of the site was Joxxed when they tracked down the dude who was required to purchase three adjacent seats on the plane trip to the USA"

As usual, it’s not so much this community that’s the problem, it’s the opposition. The opposition considers any and all forms of criticism and ridicule to constitute “felony” “harassment” or “stalking”, child, and that’s not in line with actual criminal statutes. I, for one, have never used the term “doxing” to refer to discussing or sharing information in the public domain or put out by cows themselves in such a way that makes them look like the buffoonish subhumans they are. I’ve always considered “doxing” to involve an element of misuse of private information illicitly obtained.

What’s being asked is the equivalent of asking people to not refer to criminal alien invaders as “illegal immigrants” when immigrant refers to a person who has legally become a citizen.

Something good about "doxing" is that its just concise at just two syllables. Phonebooking and Honeycombing, at three and four syllables, sound really drawn out and aren't as catchy.
