For the reasons I outlined, a hideously large chunk of the autists in the fandom are fixated on the sausage factory production line of

1. Saiyan character gets kerbstomped
2. Saiyan character watches his loved ones get tortured and die horribly
3. This causes Saiyan character to unlock a new edgy snowflake transformation thats the stronkest ever
4. Cue melodrama and probably him rawdogging/getting rawdogged by his true love now that the inconvenient family is out the picture

Since Gohan is the designated simp who cares about his wife and child like some kind of kansas faggot, he tends to get this the most from what I have seen.... which aint exactly helped by this actually happening to an extent in canon a bunch of times. Recently though there has been a rise of steps 1 and 2 being exchanged for "Saiyan character gets betrayed and buck broken in the time chamber for six trillion years" thanks to AI pajeets on youtube, which has led to a rise in Goku and Virginia getting the hurt/cumfart treatment but the general pattern is the same now as it was circa 2003. Autistic children and manchildren want to joik themselves off to big muscly men suffering and crying as they kill bug/robot monsters who hurt their feelings.

Something tells me that's the tamest you've read of these edgy fics.

Sorry, but that's Dragon Ball Multiverse that has Gohan watch Pan get her neck snapped.
He encourages her to engage in a fight to the death in a tournament she has no chance of winning in, where her opponent is somebody that Gohan has actually fought before and knows is way stronger than Pan (who is only Super Saiyan 1) and is extremely brutal. And then he... gets angry and surprised that Bojack just snaps her fucking neck.
It's the funniest shit imaginable, and just more proof that DBM is pure slop.
"I allowed my daughter to participate in a fight to the death against somebody I know is both a killer and is stronger than her, and now she is dead, how could this be happening to me?!"

(oh, btw, the only punishment that Gohan would face for intervening in the fight would possibly be having his universe get sent home and not being allowed to participate, and yet he still watched. LMAO)

Bonus points: There are two Pan fighting in this tournament, and the weaker Pan from "the mainline" universe who just saw her stronger counterpart get her fucking neck snapped painfully didn't want to fight, but luckily, Goku and Gohan are just like, no, you should TOTALLY fight evil rapist Goku who is literally insane!

I suspect part of the web of reasoning includes a harsh case of Future Gohan envy coupled with the whiplash of going from Gohan at the end of the Cell Saga to the Great Sayaman schtick. It's absolute dogshit writing, as usual.
Baba (Who is young now because she died I guess) (that's right, the woman who survives literally everything in Dragonball, and is along with Mr. Satan the only human to NEVER die thanks to her ability to just safely hang out at the Check-In station died to the Androids, despite being able to see the future). Gohan and Roshi go to ask her for help and to talk to Goku, who she cuts off from saying "get the namek Dragon Balls" for some reason, and then tells him "die, cunt" in no uncertain terms.

Salagir's Dragon Ball characters are all massive unhelpful cunts that act completely OOC to drive along a truly awful plot.

God damn they made Pan the Vegeta of DBM but even worse.

So the funny part about Pan in DBM is that Salagir, the author of DBM, believes entirely in Eugenics and "power caps".
So your max strength is seemingly based entirely upon how strong your parents are. (Goku in DBM was actually written to have not just a stronger father than Vegeta (Bardock is stronger than King Vegeta in DBM) but his mother isn't Gine, but some bitch who is even stronger than Bardock)
This is why their version of Bra is so strong, because her father is Vegito, and she can fight Perfect Cell level enemies in base.
But at the same time, Pan, despite being older than Cell Games Gohan, and theoretically, according to Salagir's logic, potentially way stronger than him, not only can't go Super Saiyan 2 at all, but as a Super Saiyan she gets curbstomped utterly by Bojack.
But worse still, the Pan that got curbstomped got trained by Vegito himself, and "mainline" Pan can't even go Super Saiyan.
(Funnily enough, in the 'novelization' and the colored version, they try to have Pan do better against Bojack, but it is the funniest shit imaginable, of Pan basically screaming at Bojack to die over and over as she spams attacks that deal no fucking damage to him, while Bojack just sorta patiently waits for her to surrender by doing nothing after kicking her once and almost ragdolling her before just getting bored and killing her after she screams at him that he's worthless, and nothing, and to die in a friendly no-stakes tournament for the 10th time. As far as I'm concerned, in a tournament where the only way to win is for the opponent to either give up or die, when you scream "I won't give up" what do you expect will happen?)

This goes on with a few more pointless attacks from Pan while Bojack does the bare minimum to defend himself until he just teleports behind her and instantly breaks her neck.

They try to make Bojack come off as the bad guy here, but hilariously the extended fight just makes him look like a better guy than Pan, who just doesn't know when to quit. (Whatever happened to stuff like Goku in the Cell Saga knowing he has no chance against Cell and giving up rather than fighting pointlessly? There were stakes there, too)

Tangent aside, it's so funny that power levels in DBM were just something that remained utterly static, it's written with the old retard viewpoint where base Power Levels just stopped increasing for some reason, and that Saiyans just had to rely on transformation spam to keep getting stronger.
