So are we getting the magic space goat arc animated?
It looks like we're getting every arc reanimated in one final, canon, form. Thank fucking god. This split canon stuff was retarded and I'm glad they're going to stick to one damn timeline and actually let Toyotaro do what he was meant to do. Call me optimistic but I hope they give it the Bleach Thousand Year Blood War treatment and just straight up rewrite some of this stuff. Goku Black/Zamasu is such a fucking mess and it's all terrible. Toyotaro tried so hard to salvage it but it was a broken story that was straight up unfixable. The TOP also desperately needs the manga scenes so at least Jiren feels like an actual character a little bit and has SOME motivation.

>2035
>Toei's HQ is surrounded by a mob after they announced they are animating Ressurection F for the 4th time
>Without any choice left, Toyotaro is given the green card to make his old AF fic canon
>Daima SS4 using Ultra Instinct
>Half of Latin America is raptured

So they gonna remake super that follows the manga as a OVA? I hope the quality will be up to snuff atleast.
From the press release:

'Now, in 2026, the anime Dragon Ball Super, original work, story, and character design by Akira Toriyama, is set to begin anew as Dragon Ball Super: Beerus! This ENHANCED edition introduces a large number of newly added and redrawn cuts, along with a reconstructed narrative. With cutting-edge visual expression, the series delivers even more immersive battle scenes and a more faithful representation of the original manga -- bringing an ENHANCED edition to life like never before.";

So sounds like it will also add things from the manga as well. Here's hoping they fix the ending of the Future Trunks/Goku Black arc.

EDIT
Here's a poster for the Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol arc.

Its just a remaster similar to One Piece Fishman Island from last year with promise that they'll add some new scenes to iron out some of the narrative inconsistencies with early Super leading up to the Moro arc. A huge nothing burger and the fact that this is the...fifth iteration of this arc from over a decade ago really shows how dire things are with this franchise now.

Much like every arc in Super its good ideas held back by bad writing decisions and subpar art.

It's alright, it just doesn't stick the landing. It's good enough to hold up there with something like the original DB arcs. Merus is the best part of the arc, easily and is a welcome addition to the cast. I like Jaco, so more of him is always good in my opinion. It's biggest weakness is that Moro himself is kind of stupid, and it feels very fanficy.

That's a problem with all of Toyotaro's OG arcs honestly. They don't feel like Dragonball. Sometimes that's for the best, like him trying to fix Goku Black where his changes are very welcome. However, things like the Goku avatar, Ultra Ego, and honestly most of the Granolah arc kind of stop feeling like Dragonball and more like fanmade arcs. You can tell a secondary author made these. Toyotaro's best work is his slice of life stuff like with his Goten and Trunks mini-arc. In fact, i'd argue stuff like that is why Toriyama chose him as his successor in the first place. It really does seem like stuff Toriyama himself would do, but has a more modern DB take on it.

shows how dire things are with this franchise now.
I mean that's Toei's own fault. Making the Super anime and manga alongside each other and then having to justify the manga's existence was a fucking horrible idea from the start. They had no plan or direction for Super and so if you look back on it, Super really does kind of suck. It also made the experience for new fans abysmal because once they get to Super, where do they go? The anime? Well what about everything the manga changes and no longer lines up with the anime? It made Super completely unapproachable for new fans so a remake is kind of necessary.

I mean yeah everyone knows that but by the end of the day they just want to make money based on brand recognition alone and for better or worse they succeeded and they're pretty much doing it again. I vehemently disagree that it needs a remake to fix these issues because for fucksake this franchise has been stuck in this post Buu arc timeslip for 20 years (if you count Yo! Son Goku and Friends Returns) and its amazing how very little in Super has progressed in any meaningful fashion.
