Damn Akira dies right when i was deep into re-watching the original Dragon Ball. What terrible timing too given it's the 40th anniversary of the manga and the year of the dragon.

It’s a surreal bookend to Goku’s character, too. He almost died after cracking his head and became the jovial warrior we love; the author died from a clot of a (likely) head injury.

You still gotta grind the fuck out of side missions a million times in hopes that one pair of wristbands finally drop after fulfilling every objective in record time, only to get that pair of boots you have 80 sets of instead. The grind wasn't reduced at all. The grind is the only thing keeping people playing the game in between dlc packs because there's not a lot to it. Levels were never hard to get. The grind was always in gear and skills.

Everytime these faggots talk about blacks in the series they also clutch pearls over characters like PoPo or Staff Officer Black, then turn around and larp that Piccolo is a nigger because.... he's tall and originates from a different planet? Who fuckin knows, but they sure as shit cant name any of the actually black characters they pretend to like since theyd claim theyre all racist depictions. But either way, I hate these cunts and I hope they burn in HFIL

you can download the mod that drops everything if it bothers you that much, man
The amount of skills that are worth getting isn't much either. Really good ones you can get with zeni or TP medals, if you don't just do the training missions.
 
The thing is that latin america had something of an anime boom prior to the 2000s. The latin american dubbing scene is muuuuch better than in the US, you have to realize they have pros that constantly do work dubbing hollywood movies and TV. Thus, much more experienced actors got to work on DBZ than say, Funimation's first dub of DBZ.

On top of that, Dr. Slump had also gotten a dub for the latin american audience. Scroll down in this link to look at how many places it aired:

I remember seeing a few pages on that site that were missing some channels. Toriyama's footprint on international TV is no joke.

EDIT: Regarding the US, there it is. Toonami announces a DBZ Kai marathon starting at 2AM.
