I actually have the opposite opinion. I've been playing it a little bit after it unpacked (thanks Fitgirl I haven't bought a game in ages) finally and it just feels...cheap and inferior. It looks great but it feels just...wrong. Inputs either buffer like crazy or just don't response quick enough (I've tried both keyboard and controller, same issue though I prefer keyboard), the AI is either piss easy or input reading (sometimes it just breaks and stands there while I just dump supers and ultimates into them), the voice acting is mostly flat for either dub (then again these VAs have been doing these same lines and sagas for years), attacks usually just don't have much weight to them and are suprisingly less flashy than their older counter parts (hell even the BT4 mod had more impact on new moves despite how stiff they are), it just feels like another game hit with the Bamco "anime fighter" curse where it should be incredible but ultimately it's just pretty in some areas with everything falling flat.
It feels like a $30 max game with a price tag of $70 minimum, like they barely staggered to the finished line with a mostly finished product, which to be fair is an achievement for this fucking era of games. I hear the multiplayer is awful which is unsurprising, but you'd think if they can afford the $70 they can afford good connection, unless this is just Bamco's servers being shit like always.

Other than the fact that we've
  • Reverted back to IMMEDIATE Post-Z (it's directly stated that the Earth's Dragon Balls were just used, so we can assume they were used for erasing everyone's memories of Majin Buu)
  • Potara Fusion once again got retconned, Shin and Kibito (along with Vegito) are stated to have defused because "Majin Buu emits a gas that cancels Fusion, so Shin and Kibito asked for Majin Buu to eat them and then spit them back out"
  • Namekians have now been directly implied that they are the descendants of the Demon World

So basically we can consider every last bit of Super thrown out the window (save for the "multiple universes" thing). I guess we can also now consider the Demon World an expanded thing, but I don't know if that should've come at the cost to all of Super's stuff – regardless of how you might feel about Super as a series.

I played a bit more and i have to agree super inputs (especially ults) 80% of the time, dont response when i know they should. they no longer auto target so some ults have been out right nerf like gokus instants kamehameha. Some of the new voice acting (especially on the kids characters) are just bad. Not tried online yet so i cant comment on that.

When the game works, Its fun. lets see how long it will entertain me.

Daima was always said to come between Buu and Super and they're working on stuff for when the show is over. I don't think anything's outright been deleted from canon yet. The potara thing is like the second retcon though which is pretty funny.

Oh neat, I didn't catch that. I haven't watched it but I'm quite interested in the outcome but I know it's Bardock. Pre-SSJ Bardock it might be relatively close but as a SSJ? Lol no at most Omni-man has speed. I just saw the dislikes so I'm going to assume Bardock got jobbed, Death Battle is definitely funded by the Frieza force considering he's pretty much the only one to survive.

Somewhat related, just beat Great Ape Vegeta (was mostly doing tournament and team battle to get the feel for the game) and...people were complaining about him? Lol, must be trying to run up to him and trying to fight him normally. I beat him in the sickest way too, we both reached max power at the time same and finished with a beam struggle, was sick I will admit.
 
Doublepost but fuck it. That death battle was garbage. I like how they showed King Vegeta (saying Bardock scales up to him which is downright false, he's probably weaker until he became SSJ and then vastly outclassed him) casually flicking his wrist and vaporizing 3 planets at once and compared it Omni-man destroying...a single slightly bigger planet, they don't even mention how it took the full power of 3 of the strongest Viltrumites (not counting my nigga Thragg of course) together, that being Omni-man, Mark, and Thaedus to destroy said planet. They straight up didn't even mention that either, claiming it was just Omni-man. They used their ship's weapon to destroy some fragile solar disk like that is an apt comparison to their durability, like it was at all comparible to destroying a planet. I could go on but they're foolishness speaks for themselves, not to mention that-once again-the comic book character is getting a far more detailed anaylsis than the anime character just so they can justify themselves easier, which ultimately makes them look less credible.
I know it's "haha putting two characters together from different series and making them kill eachother for entertainment" but man even the fight itself wasn't that interesting. I also really hate blatant one sided favortism and especially if they don't even try to hide it.

Don’t forget Broly, Mr. Satan, Android 18, Beerus, and Master Roshi. They also got wins in their respective episodes. Also, Vegeta beat Shadow back in the day.

Mostly meant the Saiyans recently. Black, Vegeta, Goku, now Bardock.

Playing more Sparking Zero, I might uninstall and just never buy it. The more I play the more glaring issues I see that make it just inferior. It feels sterile, like it was done because people wouldn't shut up about another BT and they wanted to just shut them up with another game rather than genuinely make a worthy entry. The "episodes" are just...so boring and cheap, the rest of the single player content (pretty much the only reason I played BT3 so much) is not worth it, and I'll be damned if I'll buy it just to play with others on Bamco's shitty online, and again multiplayer was never the big reason to play BT. I can't believe I'm saying this but I rather stick with XV2, and I'm struggling to even get a basic modded setup with it since it's so unstable for no reason. I remember I just had revamp installed and something broke so hard I had do all sorts of things just to get it to run vanilla, such as messing with the registry. Yeah, that XV2.

I didn't like that part very much, it's similar to the Cell vs Gohan Kamehameha final scene, but cheaper, as if kid Trunks would be able to impact the fight in such a way (it's the same scene, Vegeta did that as well to Cell in a way). Felt like a pushed "dad and his sons" predictably defeat evil guy in final blast.

I'm generally more interested in hand-to-hand combat when it comes to the DBZ anime, but when it's done balanced.

Most of the movies are purposefully similar to certain canon battles, I don't mind it but can see how it isn't ideal. There's a lot of hand-to-hand combat fans, usually they seem to prefer Dragon Ball over Z, but I'm an unrepentant ki blast struggle whore lol

What's even worse is Dragon Ball haters autistically screeching in spiteful joy every time Death Battle cucks DBZ, they're more retarded than any body who doesn't like the outcome could ever be because they're the ones taking it the most seriously of all.

But yeah, Bardock would curb stomp Omni-Man based on what they showed (and apparently they took a journoscum approach and twisted the truth like you mentioned, but even then it's an easy Bardock win).

Nah, it's true. Sure there's DB fans who are retarded about it too, but many of the comments are crying about DB fans, not DB fans actually crying.

As for Sparking Zero, a 7/10 is probably generous considering it's a damn arena fighter. I'm sure it's probably good for what it is but those kinda suck. Still, IGN gave Dustborn and Concord the same score, so IGN specifically should've rated it a damn 10/10 lmao

Sure the first two movie arcs sucked but Goku Black was great besides the Potara retcon and the ending and Tournament of Power was fine for what it was.

For all Super’s faults it was still better than GT.
