Daima is a breath of fresh air. I see people bitching about them being kids and the pacing, but we've already known they gonna be kids and that it's gonna be an anime rpg. And at first i wasn't really exited, but so far, its been pretty good. Even the new characters are fine. And after first 6 episodes its definitely better than Super, or GT... I just hope that at the end it won't go off the rails and start to become real fast, as it is a show with limited number of episodes, so i hope they will also take their time with the finale.... its also a plus that they've been working on this since 2022 and hope the animation/art quality stays like this till the end.

Sometimes it's just nice to have a chance of pace. It's obvious they're going to continue Dragon Ball after Daima concludes, so there's no reason to get antsy about it.

New episode of Daima was awesome. Finally a real fight, even if it was short. The comedy is on point too, the minotaur was great. Chemistry between the cast is very good so far. Couple things I didn't like was the reveal that Kais are genderless and Panzy's flirty comment to Glorio, but they're very nitpicky throwaway lines. Every episode has gotten consistently better, I had Daima rated as a 7/10 but I'm thinking it's more like a 9/10.

@SSj_Ness
I think that image was meant to imply that two people merge into one (with the buff guy being what they turn into). There's no rule that says it can't be more than two people, though Goku only took two of the bugs with him.
I see, I thought it showed 3 little people and then one big dude. It'd be a fun way to spice up fusion, Dragon Ball Fusions (3DS) did something similar.

Yeah I don't think Chris Sabat is a particularly good director either, and Vic is definitely just a case of age catching him. Understandable but was still a hit to the nostalgia.

Also agree that the general performances got worse after Z. Most of the time everyone just sounds like they're phoning it in. Think the only truly great scenes post Z were in Kai (Goku's X20 Kamehameha and the "I am Son Goku" speech) and I'd chalk that up to Sean actually caring about those scenes in particular.
Yeah, completely agree, especially about them phoning it in.

I think they were also only good because by comparison those were some of the weakest parts of Z, especially that speech since it was already butchered in localization to begin with, and was a line he didn't even deliver very well to begin with. Sean really knocked most of the Namek saga out of the park in Z though, especially the Frieza fight; his transformation scene & killing blow vs Frieza both being particularly good.

Corruption or just being real fucking old until Shenron granted him his youth and powers back. Though I don't recall him spitting up more eggs after his wish until Goku mortally wounded him.
That actually makes sense.

Wasn't Piccolo essentially sort of his reincarnation? It'd explain his appearance and why he's so much stronger than his siblings.
That was how it was explained, but that would either mean Namekians can perform that sort of reincarnation in addition to normal procreation or that it was somehow a King Piccolo exclusive ability. Part of the fun with Daima is we may get some lore dumps.

I feel the same way. If I put nostalgia aside it's way better than GT, and obviously better than Super (which is saved solely by the good parts, it's very inconsistent, unlike Daima).

I'm surprised that Goku's surprised he can go Super Saiyan as a kid, what with this taking place after the Buu Saga and him knowing full well that his youngest kid and Trunks can both turn Super Saiyan.

It makes sense to me. Goku had to relearn his body, and while Goten and Trunks could do it at a young age, Goku couldn't. Goku also didn't need Super Sayain until now, so he probably didn't feel the need to try (yet).

I also dig they're saving the Kamehameha for something.

Daima's been cozy kinda wild.

But Goku has commonly learned/figured out techniques purely from having watched others done them, though, at least throughout Dragon Ball. Goku also didn't particularly need Super Saiyan in that fight either, but he just decided to go full(er) bore just to not hold anything back against Glorio/probably end the fight quick without expending too much more energy or needing to seriously injure Glorio. And, if you'll recall, an episode or two ago, he did actually go Super Saiyan for a brief flash when he was fighting Kadan's soldiers to prove his strength.

Just because Goku didn't know how to do it when he was originally a child doesn't mean he couldn't do it, as clearly evidenced by Goten and Trunks. But he knows it's possible now after having seen them both do so. He even already tried giving it a test fire beforehand. Thus, I would've expected a remark more along the lines of him finally figuring out how much he has to raise his ki in order to trigger the form in his child body rather than "Oh hey, I didn't know I could still do this!"

So I did a quick rewatch of things. I goofed the fuck outta it.
The long and short of it is that Goku could, but hasn't been fighting seriously to that point.
The moment Shin asked him to fight more seriously he went "I'll transform. That's a neat trick".
"Thank goodness I can still do it as a kid" is less of a surprise for Goku and more he found out he could earlier, as far back as him still being on earth, and is just saying that he's happy he can still do it.

Interesting bit of lore this week, Shin/Supreme Kai's real name (i.e. the one he originally had in the Demon Realm) is revealed to be Nahare.

This last episode was a little bit of a letdown, wasn't terrible but I think we've seen enough fights against grunts and police stopping these guys like they're niggers. I'm looking forward to another good fight in the next one.

They're playing up the stress of his body in that alien environment to weaken him, and how long it's taking him to get used to his kid form. It kinda makes sense.

It was because Kai wanted to see what Glorio was capable of, which wasn't much compared to a Super Saiyan.

Alright, Dragon Ball fuckers, here's the deal: Old school Z fan, just watched "Super Dragon Balls Heroes" movie, and I'm like, WTF?!
I thought Dragon Ball GT sucked, but it was interesting to see Super and GT merge. I understand Gogeta fusion was more powerful than Vegito fusion, but that was stupid. I thought SSJ4 and SSJBlue were on equal levels? Also, where were all the other gods of destruction and angels, when only universe 6 and 7 were playing with the Grand Zenos?

Episode 9 of Daima sure was slow again. Fighting grunts is too common, it's my main complaint about the show so far. If they want to show fights against grunts it has to be a weaker character, that's what I was hoping we'd see Glorio & Panzy doing more often, but we know Goku or Vegeta aren't going to have any trouble against rabble. It's such low stakes combat that it's really no stakes, and that's fine occasionally but it's too much now.

It still wasn't terrible or anything but this is becoming a crutch to fill screen time. Next episode seems like filler too...

I'm gonna have to make some guesses as to what you really mean. I'm guessing you mean Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is the film you saw.

First of all, it was actually Vegito that was stronger than Gogeta but that was retconned so they're equal types of fusion.

It's unknown which is a stronger form, Blue or 4, but I'd assume Blue is stronger based on what we see. Even Super Saiyan God itself may be stronger than Super Saiyan 4.

Not sure what your question about the gods and Zenos is about, it's too vague.

Super Dragon Ball Heroes is an original series of net animations made for the card and arcade games of the same name and it basically ends up being a series of dream crossover fights (by which I mean, you get a lot of fanservicey matchups using characters from all across the Dragon Ball series, including GT and Super) set to whatever the hell that game's story is.

Yeah, but he said "Super Dragon Ball Heroes movie", and to my knowledge there's no such thing, not even a TV special/OVA that may be confused for one, so I assumed he meant the movie Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, because it's kind of a similar title. Idk though.
