Dumbest Youtube gaming related channels - Warning: Bad and/or confusing content

[Smaug's Smokey Hole]

There's a channel called TheGamer, it is confusingly bad to the point where I'm not sure if it's a joke or peak hipster nonsense.

Here's a video with a timestamp to the first entry of their "10 Things You Never Knew Your Old Super Nintendo Could Do", they call it a chameleon...

...because the plastic turns yellow with age. That's not a feature. It's also widely known. Then they speculate that yellow Super Nintendo's might fetch a high price on eBay and if they can be sold for a premium then they will be coveted on the internet.
I just don't know what to think of this.


Then there's Game Sack, the commentary in their videos reminds me of the wild life scenes in Strange Wilderness.

Strange Wilderness: "Hundreds of ants are eaten each year by monkeys. Researchers believe that these numbers would be far less if ants were the same size or bigger than monkeys."

Game Sack video: "Donkey Kong Country was Nintendo's first title using pre-rendered graphics built on a Silicon Graphics workstation, this made Donkey Kong Country the third best selling title for the system as it should be because I love that game!"

Does anyone else have any videos/channels that left you scratching your head?

I saw that "Things your snes can do" video awhile back and yeah it's horrendous, real basic stuff that kids who were born years after the snes could probably tell you.

The only good thing about the video was in the comments, Guru Larry commented how the shittiness of their videos never ceased to amaze him.

GameSack, for what it's worth, are quite sarcastic and tongue-in-cheek. They also make fun of their wooden narration in a bunch of videos, and realize their humor sometimes falls flat.

Right now it's fat neckbeards calling out Soulja Boy. Like they came across some top secret info about how the chinese knockoffs he's selling aren't legit and it's up to them to fight this has-been.

When it comes to wooden delivery there's Modern Vintage Gamer who looks and sounds like a former rugby player forced to do "say no to drugs" PSAs as part of his community service, I initially wrote him off but he's actually knowledgeable and has ported lots of emulators to consoles over the years.

This was a video by YouTuber Best Trends, that's since been deleted. Definitive proof that the majority of Fortnite fans are kids.

There is the "Gaming in the Clinton Years" from Navigatr, an old youtube channel from the early years. One of the most memorable videos they put out was a garbage short review for Tomb Raider 2 where the narrator made a few terrible jokes about Lara's breasts, lackluster criticism, and a really ridiculous "challenge" to the developers of making a storyline in the next sequel where Lara gets breast cancer.

Their reviews can get so bad that Retsupurae has a small playlist of them going over the reviews. Here's one on the Tomb Raider review.

all lets players, it always leads to a worse experience compared to playing the game yourself. and the guy playing it is not your friend, you don't talk with him about the game he is talking to a microphone. you are a random nobody he will never know even exists.

Game Theory is right on top of my list of worthless gaming related channels. It thrives purely on conjecture to come to incredibly outlandish and utterly pointless conclusions on games. That and the main host MatPat is insufferable on so many levels.

Also I have to put the AngryJoeShow on notice here. We all know you Angry Joe is, and we all know he's cut from the Channel Awesome cloth, which means padding out a 5 minute "review" with about 15 minutes worth of skits. I put "review" in quotation marks because most of his review is him stammering around and trying to sound angry, but more often than not he just comes of as whiny at best.

I saw that "Things your snes can do" video awhile back and yeah it's horrendous, real basic stuff that kids who were born years after the snes could probably tell you.

The only good thing about the video was in the comments, Guru Larry commented how the shittiness of their videos never ceased to amaze him.

There was also that video he did on Speedrunning that had numerous problems such as the usage of words that pretty much were synonymous every time (jumps hops skips, etc. with two more involving other various movement based actions), Not even using more up to date stuff, and using an old Ocarina of Time Record that used none of the glitches that made the current time as short as it is (specifically the new bottle glitch, long story short, using camera angles and collecting an item never before obtained turning it into a bottle, which is detrimental for the speedrun), Wondering if the Breath of the Wild Speedrun is in Handheld or Docked mode on the Switch, when the speedrun was done on a Wii U, which could be seen with the time completion


Anyways, Beta64 used to be a great commentary channel on Beta elements in games. I *tried* watching his latest video on Smash Bros. Ultimate but holy shit I don't remember there being a time he attempted comedy, and even then I don't think he's trying at all. The funniest joke in the video is him saying he reads the comments when there are people saying he's not funny each new video.

That isn't Larry, that's his friend (and old partner on games yanks can't wank/guru larry's retro corner). He's better when he sticks to pure pisstaking instead of trying to do proper reviews. (As you said. Constantly interrupting himself.)

Clearprincegaming is pretty terrible, especially when tries to give heartfelt advice to multi-billion-dollar corporation who have shown repeatedly that they don't give a shit to give a shit.

I would subscribe to a feed a Larry's comments. He's a good Youtuber, but amazing at commenting.

He's the Aussie, right? I've found the vintage gaming hardware scene on YouTube to be pretty okay.

I find that the Let's Players I've enjoyed over the year are either super autistic at beating the game or can (sort of) narrate the game (or its non voice-acted parts) and injected their personality into the game. Otherwise, I agree with you.

PS: Is it just me, or is Let's Plays now a dead or dying format on YouTube?

Pretty much all the GTA\Rockstar YouTubers are pure, clickbaity garbage. There are a few exceptions, but the only ones I can think of right now are Bully specialist SWEGTA and NathanNS. Those guys at least try to produce well edited, informative videos instead of padding them out for ad revenue or downright scamming their viewers.

I guess they're more active of Twitch than on YouTube, but most LOL streamers are also ginormous drama queens and attention whores.
