Let's talk E3 2023. With the ESA reviving the E3 conference, Sony cutting their losses with the PS5, Microsoft scoring big with their great looking Banjo-Kazooie 3 and Nintendo finally delivering more than just a PNG of Metroid Prime 4 on its aging portable console, what do you think this year's E3 is going to be like? Place your bets now.

Are we finally going to see more of the Commandos revival? And what about the rumors of Half-Life 3 finally being in attendance? I know a few of you are going to be expecting more Elden Ring or maybe a Smash reveal. Plus, Cyan are finally doing a remake of Riven. How bad could it be?

Dude, you been living under a rock?

All video game expos and shows were cancelled indefinitely after Neil Druckmann did a Budd Dwyer during that CES livestream after GamerGate leaked all of those files on TLOU multiplayer game and TLOU3 last year.

Someone make that Grant Gustin meme where he's at the grave, but it's TGS flipping off E3.
I'll do you one better:

Oh boy can't wait to see Sony show off another 10 year old game and a sea of indie garbage at Keighleys show this summer

Oh and whatever garbage Kojima is pushing
Kojima peaked with Metal Gear. Past that he’s never made anything good, like how Death Stranding was a glorified pizza boy simulator, unfortunately getting a sequel.

Not just with Metal Gear, but Metal Gear Solid 3 specifically IMO.

I know Peace Walker has it's fans, but the game was absolute dog shit on PSP and wasn't decent at all to play until they ported it to consoles IMO. Which is a shame because I think design wise it's better as a portable, but the PSP was just not well designed for the actual movement and combat.

As for the rest (well, I never played the Acid games and don't remember which came after MGS3 so might be one of those too) they all had some critical flaw on top of just being overly pretentious drivel.

I think Death Stranding had potential. I enjoyed the but I played but I listened to Kojima's podcast about how you're supposed to play online to cooperate with other players to build shit, otherwise you're basically making the game more tedious. That's a dumb way to design othe game, so I haven't went back since. I get what he is going for I guess but it doesn't seem he implemented it well.

MGS3 was good but it was just a more tedious MGS2. No proper radar, constantly changing camo, addressing every little hunger or injury, silencers wearing off, etc. That's just the gameplay annoyances, the story and characters are worse and less interesting too.

Btw, Acid series is very good if you're into the gameplay style. Not everyone likes cards or turn based stuff. Only issue is it's kinda hard, and the story is a separate canon.

I’m a bit biased towards MGS2 due to my favorite snake being Solidus. It also just has really cool themes and a cool setting, at least in my opinion.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I don't think MGS3 has aged that well. But at the time I don't remember having any real issues with it outside the original versions dogshit camera.

Every other MGS game I've played at release I've had issues with.
