On January 5th, Mexican forces have captured cartel leader Ovidio Guzmán, son of El Chapo. Reports from Mexican social media are saying he is to be extradited to the US tonight.

Since being captured, cartel sicarios have launched wide-scale terror attacks against Mexican forces and local infrastructure. Clashes between the cartel and Mexican forces were reported around the City of Culicán. Reports are coming in that cartel forces are blockading hotels and airports in the area. Culicán airport allegedly taken over by cartel forces. Looting is taking place due to the lack of police. In other words, shit's getting spicy.

Good Write up. Where's the best place to find the latest?
Thanks, I've been mostly following this on Telegram. Seeing some reports on mainstream media too.

Here are some good places to start:

I would not want to be a tourist there right now.
“They’re supposed to come back today, but they’re stuck in their hotel because the three buses that were supposed to go to the airport got lit on fire by the (drug) cartel,” Dahl said.

“There was a shootout at the airport so the airports are shut down and the cartel put their warriors outside the hotel. I just know my brother and his family are stuck in the hotel right now.”

Current TL;DR is: Bunch of shit is on fire, several cities allegedly taken over by cartel forces. No official announcement of extradition yet, just lots of chatter on social media, and a US strategic C-17 Globemaster is en route to Mexico City.

Update:
The U.S. C-17 that had recently landed from Felipe Angeles International Airport in Mexico City, took off again and is headed for the U.S.

A Mexican Air Force B737 took off minutes from Mexico City.

The reasons for the brief visit of a U.S. military aircraft to the Mexican capital are unknown.

Tbh I think if I was one of the guys who was tasked with arresting him I'd have just waited for the opportunity and shot him.

From what I understand every single officer who participated in that arrest was eventually identified and horribly murdered regardless. So just cap him and have done with.

You're probably just as likely to make it out in the ensuing chaos as you would be otherwise, and the guy has no chance of slipping away so if you do die at least it'll mean something. Plus as long as he's alive your fellow police officers and their families are going to be targeted, and the cartels will have a motive to keep up the attacks in general.

Either don't bother going after the guy at all, or go all in and kill him.

To make more sense of the timeline, Guzmán was being held in Culiacán, then they flew him to Mexico City. Probably got picked up in the C-17 and is on the way to the US right now.
Ovidio Guzmán was flown from Culiacán to the Mexican capital in a Boeing 737 NG aircraft belonging to the Mexican air force, under the protection of artillery vehicles and Mexican special forces operators on the airport's runway.

It appears that the plane that was attacked at the same airport by cartel hitmen was used as a decoy plane.

Here's a local newspaper with some fresh updates. Use machine translate, gringos.

Some anon that claims to be a local saying it may be over. ( https://boards.4chan.org/pol/thread/411059754 )

Waste of effort. All they got to do is have some pseudo-famous tranny nigger "arrested" for weed or something and then do a prisoner exchange.
Seeing that cartel kidnap Bruce Jenner and trade him back for Lil' Chapo would be fun.

I don't know how Biden could justify a visit in these circumstances. Are they trying to off Biden on purpose? Can we finally enthrone Queen Kamala? She makes senile Biden look positively functional and genius in comparison. She's got my vote.

El Chapo is Spanish for "The Chapo"
"Daddy, why do they call you 'The Hat'?"
"*sigh* Fetch me my spiked leather belt, chico."

There's some footage of children (or some young-looking midgets) in the ranks of the cartel floating around.

Is Ethan Ralph actually in Mexico right now? Poor bastard is going to get clapped by a child soldier after mouthing off to the wrong person.

Strange how the power infrastructure in most of this footage seems to still be functioning. Surely the cartel has its own fedposters that fantasise about how they're totally gonna take out the power substations and towers to subsequently enact a local takeover, no?

We have more than enough of them in A&H/
