Semi-related I guess but has anyone else noticed that adjusting graphical settings appears to do nothing for frame rate? In my quest to get consistent 60 FPS I was playing on medium and low settings for a lot of things but was disheartened by the lack of any real improvement. Then I followed one of the guides online about the stuff they recommend turning on/off high/low and not only does the game look better but it plays just as fine and is arguably better in places. I have no idea what's going on behind the scenes with it.
What guide did you follow?

Where did this A team, B team come from anyway?
Dark souls 2, it got worse after bloodborne came out, people kept parroting this rumor that the A team was working on Bloodborne and that's why Dark souls 2 was (in their opinion) so bad.
To this day DS2 remains one of the most divisive game in recent time, people either love it or hate it, no inbetween.

Goldmask is the worst ending, even PooPoo PeePee Man is better than his bullshit. Autist literally makes everyone a slave to fate and Marika a literal puppet to the Greater Will. Greater Will already controls the cycle of life and death, now the Gods and demi-gods can't even wear tinfoil hats to avoid the gay beams and the chemicals in the water.

So far the endings are basically Ranni > Frenzied Flame (you can argue, everything burns down) > Fracture > Poop = Life in Death > Perfected Order. The Age of Absolute was a cut ending where either Miquella or Melania succeed Marika.

I mean it's Dark Souls man. Basically every ending in the series is destroy everything or let the rot and decay continue. This franchise doesn't really do happy endings.

Bloodborne had a good ending, mommy gf doll takes care of you while you grow up into an Old One. Dark Souls 3 was a meta-narrative about how shit needs to die, even though FromSoft shit generally has the same themes because they can't do thriving settlements with current technology. Generally DarkSouls was literally all about how shit needs to die and artificially extending the lifespans of things is a terrible idea. Elden Ring is weird because those themes are secondary, the greater conflict is about subservience to Outer Gods.

Also what's the more obnoxious name. Soulsborne or Elden Soulsbourne Field?

Ah, fuck it. Can you spoil me on Goldmask’s ending? I haven’t progressed the quest because I don’t know to make Brother Corhyn move from Atlas but I just can’t be arsed with this anymore. Somebody said Ranni’s ending was like inviting the ayyyy overlords over but that’s not what I took from it at all, that sort of sounds like another ending which I don’t know about.

Has anyone else seen the finger maiden next to Gate Town? She explicitly states that you can get Miquella's favor if you 'take it from the poor fool, right out of the pot' who was 'all hearing'... Is this just a hint towards the secret medallion, or is this repurposed dialogue about the Age of Absolute ending made vague enough that they kept it in anyway?

Also the update fixed my FP values on my sorcerer, so that's nice.

Demelden Soulsborne Sekirofield

What cancer.

Goldmask is a religious fundamentalist. Brother Corhyn is a failed prophet because his prophies failed to come true probably because some people are free agents. The ending is literally Goldmask taking Marika's freewill out of the equation because he thinks it's what caused the fuckery, not the giant Space Parasite that's overtaken the cycle of Life and Death. So Goldmask's mending rune ensures that everyone is a slave to the fate that the Greater Will and Fingers assign.

Ranni is the direct opposite. She hates illegal aliens and wants them to fuck off because they dictate her fate and role in the world. Moonrune and the English translation don't align, Ranni literally says that the world she makes will no longer have the certainty of the the previous order. By contrast it'll be cold and chaotic because the Fingers, the Golden Order, and Greater Will no longer dictate everything. She also wants to undo the fuckery of the Erdtree and free the souls trapped in it. Her family were Astrologers and that ties into her ending.

Goldmask is the guy who basically is getting gay beams shot straight to his brain, unlike Iji who wears a tinfoil hat. Goldmask is ensuring that the Erdtree and the souls it's trapped are ready for pickup when the Greater Will wants them. He's the biggest midwit of the setting.

unlike Iji who wears a tinfoil hat.
He really does wear tinfoil lol. I’m convinced Blaidd’s armour descriptions aren’t a stupid Frozen reference, it’s just unfortunate phrasing that makes everyone overlook how it makes him sound how he always knew something was wrong and otherwise endured it for Ranni who’s a literal bluesicle woman.
Moonrune and the English translation don't align
I get really anal about translations but I never really dug into them over these games because some part of me knows it’s gonna drive me insane, I’m not fluent in Japanese either. Is it worth it?

I liked 2 a lot but holy shit the community really had the knives out for that game.

A question about the sections of Ranni's questline towards the end:
If she was behind the night of the black knives, does she still command black knife assassins? why would she have her servants (except you) killed? There are dead black knife assassins near Iji, I think Seluvis, and also Blaidd. Soulsbornerings lore usually goes over my head and this is no exception.
The answer is: Don't think about it. George was writer #1 on the game, so every character had to die, and Miyazaki was #2, so the circumstances would be vague as shit. They fucked up the Lore in DkS 3 so much, they had to write out a contest for people to make sense of their Lost-like nonsense.

At least in the case of
Blaidd, the Two Fingers hold some sway over him, as they created him for Ranni (as I recall, all Empyreans got a servant like this), so perhaps it's a precautionary measure to stop him from being mindcontrolled into coming after her. Iji had the helmet to block out their influence, but it was taken off before he died, so he could have been under the Two Fingers' control when he was killed. The player I guess is immune to that sort of intervention since if they weren't, they never would have accepted Ranni's quest to begin with
idk really

People mistakenly think Miyazaki isn't enough of a workaholic to work on multiple games at once and since alot of people don't like Dark Souls 2 they think it was farmed out to some other team within From. Which is funny since Yui Tanimura was the co-director on both Dark Souls 2 and Elden Ring. Expect almost all issues with Elden Ring to be dismissed as the fault of Tanimura because as we all know "auteur" directors can do no wrong, just ask the people who blame Konami for all the faults in MGS4 and V, or Square for all of Platinums recent follies.

Favourite placed I placed a message:
In a catacomb, directly under a dropping slime which says "be wary of up".
By context, I know at least 4 people have fallen for it. Possibly 2 more who took it in good humour.

Heres the dataminded dialogue from the cut ending, the mention of dew and dreams implies its Miquella speaking but I could be wrong.
