Got the Erdtree Seal to +9 just to see if it has some kind of big jump or bonus effect at +10 (somber) and nope +10 preview is still worse than the Godslayer's Seal at +23. I'm confused by this item.
So, max level Erdtree Seal (which has no passive buffs) isn't as good as Godslayer's Seal (which has a passive buff to one type of incantation)? That what I'm reading here? Then what's the point of the Erdtree Seal if other stuff can outdo it and get a shiny passive with it?

How much faith do you have? It might be similar to Lusat's Staff where it scales horrifically high but requires high investment, because at 70 int my +6 Lusat's Staff is at 293, while with the double crown at 76 it's at 315.

Edit: ya maybe

Erdtree Seal also has a 40 FTH requirement to Godslayer's 27 which makes it even weirder.

The only thing I can think of is that it has pure FTH S scaling to Godslayer's FTH S/STR D scaling so if scaling is a weighted average then maybe it's better at super high FTH, but my FTH is almost at 50 while my STR is barely above base level so no idea where the breakeven point would be.
Plus it'd have to beat the +8% or whatever bonus to black flame spells to be worth it even then for me.

The only other difference is weight (negligibly lighter at 0.0 vs 1.5) and like adding 40 holy damage to the stupid fist attack... unless that transfers to spells which makes little sense. The description says nothing helpful.

Any idea what weapons would be good in lieu of an UGS? I’m running into problems with them too as strength/faith. Also, is putting some points into arcane for dragon incantations worth it?
I've been doing plain greatswords or split damage like the bloodhound for bleed build-up. I have my big one for fights, but the game encourages running like a bitch at times.

My Samurai is Lv 35
And I’m still getting smashed by Margit even with Jelly-chan
Do I need to grind more or git gud?

Margit is kinda bullshit. Just said fuck it and summoned phantoms for Godrick.

Where do I need to go to activate his rune, and is the axw you can get from him good or is the dragon hand better?

try exploring the southern peninsula more and clear dungeons until you are 40-45 and youve upgraded your weapons. I don't think you should ever really have to farm runes or anything. It's possible youve just missed things.

Abuse jumping attacks, you'll get criticals pretty easily. Look out for the overhead charging attack and the one where he jumps in the air, they're both really easy to dodge and you can get off a fully charged R2.

Also don't let him just stand there looking at you, you're just letting his posture recover.

There’s a spell somewhere in the area that can literally bind him to the floor for a few seconds that you can abuse on him to get him down to half health before he changes to his second phase and it won’t affect him anymore.

Okay so I got my katana upgraded to +4
And the Meteoric Katana +2
So I’m going to try if I can get the rot wolf ash and abuse the bleed mechanism

Divine Tower of Limgrave. You can get there from the castle.
You can get both the axe and the dragon-hand if you want. You can duplicate remembrances once you find a mausoleum.

If you summon the guy there he can eat hits while you fuck his ass with bleed. Samurai should have an easier time with him than most because bleed fucks him up real good.

Both probably. I also think the game expects you to summon allies for some if the bosses. If you need to the summon sign next to the entrance helped me a ton and I beat him on my second attempt.

I'm still not getting the difficulty for this game honestly. I'm 50, I stomped Godrick but the stupid fire dog in the library keeps breakdancing on my face.

I am confused, godrick's great rune is said to increase all stats yet I have it equipped and nothing happens

I'm over twenty hours in and loving it - decided to run my usual strength / faith lad and have had the usual experience. Sucked early on but is now kicking ass. Lightning destroys magic users and the zweihander is still my big beautiful boy that smashes enemies into stagger. Its at a B scaling on strength as a heavy weapon so it's getting me by and I kind of don't want go give it up.
I think my only gripes are - I've had multiple bosses stagger over and over with my hits and never escape the spam. It's fun and makes me laugh but it feels like it shouldn't be happening. The other thing is the rolling / shield. I'm running a 100 physical shield with that immortality spell on it but vs combos it's useless, rolls straight up suck. The delayed attacks of bosses is frustrating most of the time. I'm speaking as someone who's played all souls aside from Sekiro.
Also I've come across several enemies who will spam an attack / magic without stopping. I've had to hide and wait for them to lose aggro because they will non stop shoot at me. Its kind of bizarre.
Summoning has been fun, I camped in a little cave and set my summoning sign up for some easy grind and had a lot of fun guiding people through. I haven't been invaded yet, which I find a little weird, I'm guessing the invasions are different here.
Overall its a solid game, really fun and is how all open world games should be, little guidance with encouragement to explore.
Side note - I put quick step on my zweihander, I didn't even think you could but there we have it.

Any tips for Starscourge Radahn?
Almost every attack one hits me. If I miss one roll when he's meleeing I'm done. I'm using pebble to ping him when he's distracted by summons and dodging once he focuses on me. Whenever he loads up his boulders I get on the horse and run around resummoning the guys praying I don't eat shit from a random spell. Got him down to half health a few times with hit-and-run tactics, should I just get better at dodging?
