I beat it. It took me about 75 hours. If it weren't for some truly bullshit bosses it could be my favorite Souls game but the incredibly unfair OTT boss fights (and there are many and this isn't even including the ones that are optional) deeply soured my experience. In every Souls game the bosses felt fair. They did a ton of damage but there was a pattern and 99% of the time if you got gotted it was on you. That 1% is reserved for weird bugs that might happen once in a blue moon or that one time you got backed into a wall and the boss raped you. Bosses that were on the bullshit end of the spectrum were OPTIONAL and came in the DLC. And I beat all of those BS bosses at least once just to say that I have. The Kings Pets in Dark Souls 2 DLC which was designed for summoning, Manus from Dark Souls 1 (I'm weird, I feel Manus is more difficult than Kalameet but I recognize that's an unpopular opinion), Sister Friede in Dark Souls 3. All that shit felt more fair than the likes of Maliketh and fuck you FROM for having a 2 phase final boss fight, 2 full life bars and the player gets no health back or anything. Fuck you, I am not buying DLC or any new FROM Souls games. I will buy the eventual PC ports of the Demons Souls Remake and Bloodborne but for now I'm done with Souls games.

My souls game tier list:

Dark Souls 3
Dark Souls 1
Dark Souls 2
Elden Ring
Sekiro
Demons Souls

This being my first Soulsborn game I can guess it's probably a series staple, but damn every NPC quest ending with them either dead or worse sure is sad. As I do more stuff the Roundtable Hold just keeps getting emptier and it's basically a ghost town with only like 3 NPCs left compared to like the 10 it once housed. Those outside it also keep getting dead when I help them... Sellen got a really bad fate and I don't wanna give Bok an item it options because I am sure it's gonna kill him.

Alexander and Millicent are still alive, but I bet that won't last... can anyone I help just live? Oh well, at least Kenneth is just mopey instead of dead...

Brilliant, because I went "what do I do? Better check it up on the wiki...oh that's it, better kill the NPC and get the item drop"....
I'm so mad about Gosloc because thats what I did, when I read he had a bell bearing I had assumed he would appear dead in Godrick's room but nope. I also somehow missed the fact he provides merchant services despite having opened the door from the inside.

Ranni, Nephalli, Turtle Pope, the guy that sells you shrimp.

The Royal Revenant boss (same enemy) at Kingsward Ruins near Caria Manor is some horse shit. Imagine that enemy but in a tiny ruins boss room, no horses allowed.

My strat was baiting the spazz combo, running into do some cheeky hits building up frostbite and pulling back to let jellyfish tank some aggro (Spellblade setup).
I have no issues with using an aggro sponge spirit because these fights are not easy with no shields and old man reflexes. Crystal darts saved my shit in that fight.
These enemies reappear in Elphael numerous times, I've actually become somewhat good at dealing with them without the horse. Thankfully, the only good thing behind them can be found without dealing with them many times.
I'm having trouble with Malenia right now, using the quickstep is helping a lot, but it's difficult dealing with the hard to see tells in her second phase. Also, I really hate when she uses that ghost attack and then immediately follows up with her slash combo.

Fromsoft: Goddamn it! When will these players stop using things besides Moonveil and INT! Lets get a new nerf patch ready!
They can nerf Rivers of Blood if they want now. I finally killed that stupid cunt Malenia. I had to respec from my Strength Faith to use it. Cause the only build viable for these bosses is Dex fag shit.

Bad news about shrimp boy and his encounter with a certain loathsome dung eater if you do things a certain way... but turtle pope is questless (to my knowledge) and Ranni is endgame important lore wise. Nephalli is true, though she does get disowned and she seems to have a broken/cut quest unless I just messed it up.

Nepahlli had a bugged quest trigger it's fixed now. Check fort Haight.

You rated Demon Souls lower but you're still getting the port?

Despite Fextra and Reddit claiming otherwise, I can confirm Moonveil wasn't touched in the patch.

Also, Mimic does do less damage, but it still tanks like no one's business, so it's still valuable as a distraction.

Eleonora's poleblade is pretty fun now, but it does suffer from the usual twinblade problem of the animations being a bit too long and the weapon itself being rather short-ranged. I'd rather stick bleed on a halberd.

Think its time for a dual greatsword knight setup with those funky wind moves, should be fun!

Or Radahn’s greatswords. The aoe apparently goes through floors if you like pvp.

Is there a way to get the Rivers of Blood memetana early or is it strictly locked behind doing story progression stuff? The game is so sprawling that I cannot figure out how to get from place to place even reading the wiki and staring at the map. I've been using the Reduvia for most of the game and having fun with but I feel like I should get the most out of the fun things before people bitch and moan it into nerfdom a la DS3 bleed/luck.
