Also to the above Roderika is underappreciated.
A man of culture.
Here you go. Attached are "Statement of Small Claim" and "Exhibit or document for inclusion in Small Claims Case"
So we have an honest to god skitso case? Neat. Is this worthy of going into the lolcow cases board or is it too barebones?
working with GRRM was a mistake in the first place.
Agreed.
That's basically all From souls games, and I don't care for a more involved story.
The more they reveal, the more holes the narrative has. These games just work better as kind of aloof narratives where the player is detached from it all and is just taking shit as it comes.

Well that, or a simple narrative like Sekiro or AC6.

I started a new file as a normal knight. Not a challenge run as I try to make my build as good as I can without fucking up the theme. I'm rocking the knight armor set sold by the two headed bitch in the hub, a heavy lordsworn straight sword, a banished knight shield, and I lean on the crafting system a bit when shit gets a lil too wild(resistance items and grenades mostly).

The game is so fucking fun to play this way and I'm convinced that the straight sword moveset is a secret high tier moveset. It's so practical. A fast slashing r1, a piercing r2, a super fast guard counter, and a two part stance weapon art where the r1 breaks shields like a mfer and the r2 does crazy poise damage. The Lordsworn straight sword also gets 110 critical bonus like rapiers do.

I have also come to realize just how buff guarding can be in ER. Shoutout to the Greatshield talisman. Also shoutout to 51 passive poise coming in clutch constantly.

One cool thing to note about the Square Off ash of war on straight swords is that it does a ton of stance damage to enemies making it easier to stance break them. Its actually a pretty solid ash of war for PvE and adds to the whole knight theme very well.

Fully agreed. Give me the lovecraft game about detached cosmic horror in the seas dammit! God knows they love touching that theme but have never gone all in.

As for system, some sort of combo between bloodborne and sekiro. Elden ring honestly gives too many options, I hunger for a much more focused experience.
Give me a fast paced Sekiro style action game focused on Vampire Hunting supernatural folklore horror with the armor aesthetics of (unused) less clothed Chester from DS1. 1000155960.pngI'm dog tired of Lovecraft trite from them and gaming in general lmao there are way more interesting horror writers and inspirations to draw from, Bloodborne is already one of the best Lovecraft games and the shit crept into DSIII and ER I'm good. It's way overused (just like the demon's souls gameplay formula!).
The closest vampire thing we have is Bloodborne since it was visually influenced by Bram Stoker's Dracula.cjwil1wsb5h71 (1).jpgIf they make another action game I'd love for them to lean on the gore and horror, and some true steampunk maybe. Another reason I want a vampire game is because Bloodborne's internal dev code had a weapon idea that the devs outright noted as being the Monofilament Wires that Walter from Hellsing used. (Sourced from Lance McFaggot the bb hackerman) hellsing-ult-ix-and-x-2.jpgI'd like to see a more Hellsing inspired action horror game from them, gives them another chance to expand on their horror aspects. Or like I said previously, I'd love for Miyazaki to finally make that Vision Of Escaflowne inspired game.

Finally got around to the DLC, and my internet-rotted brain very briefly read Messmer's name as "Based Serpent Messmer".

Now, I realize that he's the Base Serpent, as in, "lack of deceny, contemptible, mean-spirited..." which makes sense, as he's a genocidal warlord who is possessed by some evil serpent.

I imagine "Based Serpent Messmer" would just rattle off crime statistics about the Hornsent.

Hornsent: "Messmer! Foe of my people!"

Based Serpent Messmer: "DESPITE being 13% of the population, Hornsent commit 51% of the atrocities in the Land of Shadow."

Hornsent: "And who commits the other 49% of crimes, vile serpent?"

Based Serpent Messmer: "That would be I, Hornnigger."

Yeah bro exactly. It consumes almost no fp meter as well. I stance broke Melania over and over again. It was glorious. This knight playthrough has been full circle from my first playthrough of Dark Souls 1, where I got lucky and had the Dark Knight Sword drop early on.

Giant Hunt is pretty fun as well, especially since it ragdolls Malenia.

Global impression? It's one of the weaker DLC. The end is kind of a wet fart.
I just finished DS3 and I still think that game's DLCs are easily the worst From has ever done. Shadow of the Erdtree at least has redeeming qualities while AoA and Ringed City are incoherent messes that are essentially just every cut asset and fanservice idea they still had left from the base game.
Basically was fine, but nothing amazing. Would still like SOMETHING with Godwyn. Oh yeah, the plot... makes no fucking sense, we didn't even know that Miquella and Radhan had even bloody interacted till this. And if I get it right, Miquella used his "love me daddy" powers on Mogh and proceeded to use his corpse to revive Radhan... who was still alive anyway? Would have made so much more sense it was Godwyn. We know from the lore that Miquella and Godwyn knew each other, we know that Godwyn's soul is dead/destroyed, but Radhan is still alive and well when we play, just in a horrible state of pain, was Miquella's whole plan banking on Radhan eventually dying and doing this whole shit? And does Radhan have ANY agency in this? Not a single line? I usually don't give a shit about souls lore outside of the ambience and do enjoy the essays, but this one was extra crap.
Yeah, I think some of the incredulity from the community is that this is probably the first time Souls fans have been this pissed off by the actual story not being good. Normally From can hide behind the story breadcrumbs route but when you drastically change a character's motivations and personality just to justify a terrible boss fight (with no choice to join the "villain" btw) that will understandably make people mad. Forcing us to kill of Leda is pretty shitty too because she's neat. You can't "git gud" your way out of narrative critique.

I hate that Messmer's fire knights can use an actual montante stance to riposte attacks with their greatsword mid combo but the player can't. That's the kind of depth that the combat system could use, because in reality a swing can double as a parry in a swordfight. That would give the player a lot more agency.

Too bad FromSoft are japanese and will never enough have respect for actual HEMA to make a game like sekiro-esque game based on it.

You should give Euporia a try if you haven't, now that it can actually put out serious damage on bosses quicker. 4 R1 or 2 R2 should be enough to fully charge it and unleash the blast. Quite good on bosses that have their weak point moving around too much like Bayle and Shittree Avatar. Alexander Shard alone should give a huge boost to its damage without any buff.

Grace is indicated by having gold over your natural iris's color, but what are the inhabitants of the lands between opinions on people who have no eyes? You can't really prove if someone does or doesn't possess grace in this scenario.
In my opinion, having grace seems to be a curse that allows the current wielder of the Elden ring to see through your eyes and control your actions to some extent (remove your free will while maintaining the illusion of possessing it) and seal away undesirable aspects (Messmer).

Since no eyes is usually associated with the Frenzied Flame(its alluded to by Hyetta that frenzied flame victims were ripping out their eyes{Shabiri grapes} and giving them to her) it will probably get you put on a watchlist and labelled an Alt-Frenzy terrorist.

I agree, it's more clear in japanese, but Merika's mentions of duty and curse are synonyms. The duty she gives is a form of curse, turning the metaphorical chains of duty and societal obligation into literal ones, as is common in fantasy works.

There is actually a form of ritual blinding in Erdtree society since the blind can detect the Red Star and it's Red Glintstone better, and research/worship of the thing is ingrained into the justice system. It's why the prisoner masks and albinuric torture masks impede sight. So blindless doesn't always equal the Frenzied Flame, it just makes you more susceptible to outside influence.
Hyetta is a strange case as she's possessing Irina's body and may not be human.
Although I think heedlessness is always associated with the Frenzied Flame as I can't recall it being associated with anything else.

Your eyes turn yellow IIRC.

Weapon went from zero to hero real quick. Definitely super viable now.

I have no clue if this has been posted before but it gave me a good chuckle so I want to share it here. For the past few months there's been a tripfag going by Nora Kisaragi !YAKhDlpv/Q (alleged powerword Evan Forrester Waugh) on /v/ who will fill whole threads about how there's a second game hidden in the code of Elden Ring that he would expose by ponying up his tugboat funds and suing From Software and Namco Bandai. I and many others ignored it as a troll, but today I finally saw him posting one of his small claims dockets.

Here's archives of the current thread (a) and a sample of his previous threads I missed about the suit (a1, a2). His full... bibliography? can be viewed in the archive here. Some more screencaps from previous threads:

Unrelated examples of his masterful grasp on reality include him whining about how he had to quit college to search for portals to another universe in Bloodborne and writing essays about the entire nation of Japan conspiring to keep a parallel universe full of games hidden away from you.

While all of it is a trip to read through there's no promise any of it is real. I'm only going off of the threads and screencaps that could very well be naught but tomfoolery since I'm a shit superdoxxxer and I can't find the actual court documents themselves; the court sites are impossible for my tiny pea brain to navigate. I'm going to tag @Useful_Mistake since he's got a knack for finding lawy stuff.
He has a youtube channel, there isn't much on it but he does have a Dark Souls video where he explores his so-called theory. I'm making quite a few edits of this post as I go along, because the more I check his tabs, the more I'm finding. He has an entire PLAYLIST of unlisted videos also going into this theory, which I have archived in case he DFEs.

But it's the livestream schlock where he really dives into this shit.

I recommend Nioh 1 if you're looking for more depth in combat, from will NEVER give us proper stance switching and its bad that a star wars souls game has already done that...

Can't git gud on the drought of meaningful innovation beyond a fucking attack button for light or stronk attacks now, can you fromdrones? :)
The redditors and fromdrones will always jump to defend reused assets and animations literally no one ever complains about, while conveniently ignoring reuse of story tropes and the gameplay itself lmao it's been going on since at least when DSIII was around.

People forget that Demon's and Dark Souls story was pretty straightforward and could understand it while you were playing. It was only further contextualization and details, particularly in relation to certain bosses, that you needed to read item descriptions for. It was with DS2 and DS3 that they leaned heavily in a more convoluted story told primarily through item descriptions.

If you don't read any item descriptions at all in DS1 you still know the general story of the game and the main players, if you do the same in DS3, you will be completely lost
