Encyclopedia Dramatica - The Kiwi Farms that time forgot, ownership passed around a multitude of drug addicts and losers like a cheap prostitute, constantly offline, dead any day now, graveyard of shitty millennial humor.

There's a lot of crossover stuff from /cow/ autists. Everybody with a grudge set up a page. The Matthew Moulton page was hella funny because when he joined the farms most of us didn't know who that degenerate diapurfur was.

I like how this is one of the first images that shows up when you google kiwi farms.

I understand that the wayback machine may speed the process up, but how long does it take to restore such a massive (considering ED's age alone) site?

-Sorry for the random question, I'm just hella curious and wasn't able to ask the same when Kiwi went radio silent for a spell.

Has this site ever considered a wiki?

We do have a Lolcow Wiki, but it's small and extremely inactive. Most of the articles that do exist are either out of date or they're preserved from the old Deagle Nation Wiki that directly preceded it.

I'm curious what all it would take for someone to get on the Lolcow Wiki's staff and expand upon it.

Personally, I'd be in favor of expanding the Lolcow Wiki into a more general "Kiwi Farms Wiki" that not only includes more stuff on the lolcows, but also articles about the different boards and forum culture, notable Kiwi Farms users both past and present, as well as certain events in the site's history such as the events of the Weeb Wars or the New Zealand controversies.

It could be a good learning resource for those who want to join Kiwi Farms but aren't too familiar with the forum's overall culture and attitudes.

Perhaps a more general wiki like ED?

Sort of, but without all the problems ED has.

The main issue with ED is the fact that it's a relic of the Web 1.5 internet culture of the 2000's. ED basically came about as the offspring of LiveJournal and /b/ during its glory days, and it really shows. Also, the fact that it was associated with 2000's era /b/ for so long is one of the reason's it's always being targeted by internet busybodies and keeps experiencing shutdowns.

Don't get me wrong, I actually enjoy reading the over-the-top style of your average ED article but it's not very useful for anything except as a source of laughter and entertainment. Which is the wiki's entire purpose.

A Kiwi Farms Wiki or an updated revision of the Lolcow Wiki would be similar to ED, but less focused on being "for the lulz" and more on being an information archive of lolcows and the Farms as a whole.

IMO, Lolcow wiki has been probably the best idea this site's had yet due to the lack of editors and it's uncertain future (the last time it went down it was only put back up because it documented Dan Olson's 8chan gayop and it's down right now) it's going to go nowhere.

One main criticism I've seen about this site from former users and outsiders is that a 1,500 page thread is very hard to digest, especially when half of the pages have low quality posts and the OP is out of date. One such example is the PurpleKecleon/GlitchedPuppet thread which recently had an OP update and even then it could be better written. There's lots of drama and leaked chatlogs buried within 1,500 pages worth of content ranging the gamut from critiques of her art to those who knew her posting stories about her, but there isn't really a condensed version.

As someone who used to lurk this site one of the features I always wish would be added was a feature to sort by certain things like reaction scores or pictures on a thread, let’s say you wanted to find pictures or :informative: content in a cow thread with over 1000+ pages. If you could sort posts by a reaction score or only filter the thread so that it only has pictures you could cut a huge thread down to less pages and hell a thing were you can sort pages by date (ex. any posts between 1/15/16-2/13/16) it would be less annoying and repetitive than constantly clicking every page just to find one thing.

I believe Null mentioned some plans to make OPs themselves editable in the manner of wikis. I feel like that would nicely eclipse the lolcow wiki. The 'sort by reaction score' idea was also tossed around, I think.
