How did "ETA" come to be confused for "update" or "edit"? Not on KF as a joke, but like IRL among real people. I saw a couple Reddit screencaps in the Aimee Challenor thread using it.
My guess is that people get asked by their boss or parents "can you give me an ETA" on when they'll arrive, but they perceive it as "can you give me an update" (on your situation).
