Perhaps he says they're relevant because of memes being spouted today. Problem with that: these are things you'd say online in places such as a forum for shit posting. Saying them IRL would only get you a glance from someone wondering what you're even saying. As for being an atheist saying things like "Deus Vult" and "Wodan Heerst", it's sounds like he's just spouting memes to sound funny or something like that.

They're "relevant" because tens of thousands of internet dwellers hurr hurr on them in passing, before moving on to google hentai.

But the God of the Christians, Jews, and Muslims, who has over a billion serious followers worldwide...? Nope, can't talk about that. Not relevant.
 
This kind of atheism seems dated to me, frankly, like a throwback to 2005, when even Nora Reed sees that these smug fucks are cancerous it's time to be more nuanced in your rejection of faith. All it took were 20 odd images of grimacing neckbeards to make atheism look declasse, that and the whole atheist church phenomenon which was cringeworthy as fuck.

Actually, it's more neutral on Trump, maybe even slightly pro-Trump, albeit unintentionally.

Anyway, Euphorics get wet over everything NDT says, you can file him with Dawkins and Hutchins.

The entire New Atheism fad was just a front for the Secular Humanist ideology, which has always gone hand-in-hand with social justice and progressivism; now that social justice has basically jumped the shark, and pretty much every new Atheist organization has revealed itself as just a typical progressive, SJW hivemend, the entire trend is dying out.

While the other 'camp' of pop atheism is basically just the trendy, nihilistic, angsty, existentialist atheism, which has pretty much always just been associated with low-class, porn-obsessed neckbeards and social rejects, so it's never going to be marketable to anyone with a sex life that doesn't involve masturbating to Minecraft porn and reposting Nietszche memes on Reddit anyway.

Pretty much every "atheist" community on the internet is just a lunatic fringe SJW hugbox, or a veritable freak show of Bronies, 4channers, minecraft addicts, and Simpsons porn fans.

I agree, point was when nearly every mainstream "atheist forum" online is littered with Bronie and anime avatars at first glance, that says all you need to know about the "community".

I've always been puzzled by the concept of organized atheism. To borrow a comparison, people who play golf get together to play golf. People who don't play golf don't get together to NOT play golf.
