I love Zachtronics games, I've beat like the first 8 or so levels of EXAPUNKS. It's pretty good, not sure if its better than his other assembly puzzle games. It's different. TIS-100 is still probably more technical. It's closer to SHENZHEN I/O.

I'm not that far yet, but it seems like EXAPUNKS has more of a focus on simulating parallel processing (mutexes) and recursion, see the sample of the reference manual (or the "zine" in the story).

I'm kinda bummed out I didn't know about these sooner. Until now I only ever thought of Zachtronics as 'the Infiniminer guys'. Thanks for posting.

I got linked into his recent GDC talk after grabbing the trailer, it's a pretty good talk. He talks about getting a bit butthurt over Minecraft vs. Infiniminer. You can clearly hear Scott Manley point out during the QA that Notch made a level for Shenzhen I/O

I buy every Zachatronics game then I play for 1-10 hours, get stuck on a puzzle, feel like I must be the worlds biggest tard, stop playing, swear I'll try tomorrow, and then never play again. This one will be no different, but my body is ready.

The only zachtronics game I've liked is Opus Magnum, since it's the only one with puzzle design that doesn't boil down to dumb limitations ("Solve 3+3, without using the addition sign!") and gives you the freedom to do whatever the hell you want to beat the level.
Hopefully this one follows the same principle.
