Its frankly quite ridiculous to see the weeping over half of what happened. Why all of the tears over what amounted to at most 10 people leaving? It baffles me that its all 'Oh no our creative posters are all gone and now we're going to die DDD:" Its not like anything of substance ever comes out of the place apart from whining. Half of the progress reports there end up dead after the first week since nobody can apply themselves for shit there. Cool modding projects? 3D Modeling? Programming? Any of the cruxes of what the original community brought? Doesn't exist.

Literally half of the morons who left didnt contribute jack shit. The only people who agreed with them left as well. So good riddance I say. An absolute dumpster fire that was prime bait for a night and some popcorn. Imagine feeling accomplished with yourself after waggling your finger in someone's face screaming "BIGOT BIGOT BIGOT YOU SUCK GO DIE I HATE YOU" and thinking you're not the problem there.

Guess all of the Adderall from all of the self-diagnosed ADHD posters finally kicked in because of all of the aggression toward each other. Its literally paranoid delusion. The mod team is out to get you. The forum is out to get you. The internet boogymen are out to get you - ooooooooooo.

Its almost hilarious watching these people try to play off their over-reaction as a genuine concern. Im not surprised that the trans uprising honestly happened. That one - Amber or whatever can't contain himself the moment he sees a preceived injustice against anything. Then pulls the trump card that they're in bed with Zilla. "I just live with them" - Yeah right. Its pretty damn obvious its trying to be a chad to get some sweet dick brownie points because he spends his entire life posting on knockout defending zilla for some cock to snort stims off of. IMO, at this point "progressive" means "literally insane". Jim was probably one of the greatest allies these guys could've had, and they just fucking shit all over him. I'd feel bad for him, if it weren't for the fact that he caused this.

Even as much as I hate trannies, I have to admire Jim's patience and insistence on being neutral. Outside of implicitly supporting this whole nonsense, I can't help but think he's done literally nothing wrong. They've castigated him to such a degree that even *I* feel bad for him.

Quick rundown: the source of this entire drama is that users weren't willing to refer to other homeless, insane users as "robots" because it invalidates their sexual fetishes. These people are literally insane. I don't say that in jest. They are literally insane.

Damn kind of feeling bad for jimmy he was being reasonable, He was trying to fix the problems that were preventing expansion of the forums and stopping new users from joining discussions , but the hugbox regulars don't really want new people they just want to keep being the cool kids that get their ratings and sympathy , I was thinking why don't the radical trasngender people on ko just move to a discord server so they don't have to spend so much energy fighting bigotry or whatever but I guess these are the only wins they can get in their lives.
If most of them really leave and the places stops feeling like you are walking on egg shells around rabid posters that just wait for you to even post the slightest of wrongthink That would actually make me post there , hell here's a hot take if there is a blanket ban on all transgender discussion (good or bad faith) the forum would actually be good.

With the rate that their constant drama and slap fighting is going at, combined with the fact that the site is eating itself and its members, I think it's entirely optimistic to assume Knockout lasts even six more months.

The community was founded on spite. It was on life support from the day it began, a problem that was worsened by Inacio's "online death" (and IceCold's moderator junta) who have done nothing except ban people and piss off their own userbase. There were so many Meta threads that "locking the thread and doing nothing" became a community in-joke.

When moderation is vague and transparency is hindered, your community will begin to hate you. This is exactly what happened to Knockout. It had no goal, so there was nothing to strive for, and no purpose to exist beyond "we're a better Facepunch."

Knockout is nearing the end of its life as a community after it has done nothing but pissed its own userbase off with vague and irrelevant bullshit. The trick now is seeing how much momentum the community can muster before the site tears itself apart any more than it already has.

If anything, Knockout isn't a case study for how not to create an Internet community but yet another data point for the argument that every community splintered off/created from another site inevitably devolves into infighting, bullying, and drama before it tears itself apart.

To be fair this was mostly all them. The credit for getting the guy who runs the site banned and new trans-friendly rules put in place is all theirs. How people who don't give a shit about any of this still want to stay there is beyond me.

Joker has been doing this for a long time. He's one of the people that pays close attention to a users' post history and rating patterns to permaban anyone who could potentially maybe be a bigot. Like a fucking Minority Report LARPer.
