I have been lurking KF for a while. Finally made an account and I'll enjoy my time posting here, this community is legit. Feels like I'm back in the good, less butthurt days of the internet.

Trannies really are the bridge too far. I recall nearly two years ago asking how they kept afloat and I was told that they were doing fine and subsisting off donations from their users. Guess running a website with so little traffic (compared to Facepunch, which I recall Garry often bitched about the costs) must be cheap.

I'm convinced the costs were just an excuse, I know that a bulletin board doesn't cost much to run (especially a. when you're not Joshua Moon, and b. you've coasted through life on making an overlay for the Source engine and a thousand bucks is just a drop in the bucket). I think Garry just deleted it in his usual bipolar lowtax-lite stupor and that was that.

KO is much smaller, but more importantly KO users are savvy enough for adblock and are not dumb enough to pay 20 dollars a month to "remove ads and support the site" via a subscription like Reseteraclear

I ended up deleting my original account on there after they banned the word ret ard (including even if you post a picture that happens to contain the word), I was already getting sick of all the blatant political bans, even when someones viewpoint was something as innocuous as "yeah I don't think UBI is a good idea" because it clashed with some mods political beliefs, but for me that was a sign that the community was going full on resetera. I made a new one just so I could see meta drama since they made it so you can't see meta posts without an account.
