Facepunch/Knockout Forums - A "welcoming" gaming and lifestyle community

Well I just gave this entire thread a read over and its been a wake up call to me.
I've been a regular on Facepunch since around 2011,I was never a big name user, but I did enjoy my time there mainly in gaming sections. I wasn't smart enough to realize that KO was going to be an absolute dumpster fire when that came up after Garry killed the forums.

I didn't really notice it at first, but slowly it started to feel like more and more threads go to absolute shit, you basically cannot post a thread there unless it pertains to a pre-approved list of politically correct intellectual properties or Internet personalities. Post some random video you found on youtube that you found interesting? Well now you're a bigot because 10 years ago the video creator posted a mean tweet. Every single post in News/Politics is about how Trump was trying to overthrow the government and become a Dictator with super credible sources.

Try to say anything even remotely bad about the Democrat party in the US, or god forbid say something that could remotely be considered Pro Trump, once? You basically get put on a list by people who want to do everything in their power to see you banned from the platform, yet they swear they're not a echo chamber. I actually had a user there bring up some vauge pro trump thing I said on Facepunch as a way to discredit my opinions about a video game.

So does knockout really believe a random account made the month the event went mainstream? With no prior posting history? Dodging basic questions under the guise of "im hiding from russia :)"

Did mods ask for any proof? Or anything? Or are they just gonna go along with the LARP

I'm about 85% certain this guy is RPing. He's had a Ukranian IP address, but I assume that can be easily spoofed via a VPN or other means. The way he types is incredibly stereotypical. I just think it's hilarious/sad/hilariously sad KO is so willing to invest their time and effort into a dude that's likely a troll. I swear, I could make a new account and within a year find some way to generate revenue through KO throwing away money. No introspection whatsoever.

It's sentiments like zoneslyvania's that interest me the most. They believe that to be adverse to their world view is so inherently wrong that the only people capable of doing so are failures, losers, etc.

This intrigues me because many of KO's users express immeasurable hardship in: maintaining housing, maintaining employment, having meaningful platonic friendship in real life, having positive relationships with family, preventing addiction, acquiring skills and education, basic adult functioning.

They project so much onto anyone that they perceive as an ideological enemy, they believe everyone to be the same kind of basement dwelling internet addict that they are.

It truly is fascinating. It's very religious in a sense, that to be against a certain set of beliefs is itself to be an affront to morality and thus cosmic justice takes it's course and doles out success to the person with the most devotion and failure to enemies of the faith.

All this from middle school atheists, mind you. And the people who call you incel are, again, so far removed from meaningful relationships they require national policy to be drawn up forcing acceptance of their unwanted bodies. Very bizarre.

Y'know, although I'm mainly apathetic towards KO nowadays, I still get occasionally angry when reading certain threads. Knowing that these freaks look like this really soothes me. They are effete retards brainwashed by the internet. Many people on KF are terminally online degenerates, but at least they (hopefully) don't inspire dread and disgust with their mere presence. These guys are fucking nuts.

BTW, it's fucking hilarious finally seeing Lord of Boxes after that death threat dm that got posted. "Btw my pronouns are she/her" looool

It's annoying, but I like it, because they are very honest in their intent. "My enemies are ontologically evil and there is no deed against them which can be considered wrong" is very helpful because it identifies people who if they had the means and capability, would go out their way to kill you, or worse. Marking themselves this way just makes the inevitable showdown easier.

And don't be misguided, *everyone* is now like this except a few people. Those that *hide* this and pretend like they're the "normals" will win, unless someone figures out. A mess is coming in general.

I know people like this online and in real life. I'm probably going to reveal too much of my power level here but take this as a cautionary tale of how these people come about.

When I was about 13, I started browsing /a/ on 4chan. Through a series of events, I became a member of a ventrilo group that would play video games and watch shit together. They were almost all males older than me (there were a few women) but they were generally pretty normal guys into milsims and anime. They were my friends. They constantly shit on me because I was young and retarded, but I deserved it.

A decade later, I'm by far the most successful person left in the group, this isn't even meant to be self-aggrandizing, it's objectively true. They banned literally everyone else that has a fucking life. They banned a lawyer that we had been friends with for over 10 years because he was racist (the lawyer was brown). They banned a business owner because he was too right-wing, despite him being one of the most well-liked people around. I've almost gotten banned because of wrongthink as well.

The others? They literally all work deadend jobs, are on autism bucks and don't work, are trooning out, or some combination thereof. At that, they constantly discuss how idiotic other, more successful people are. Literally anyone that isn't under the poverty line is a failure, and evil in their eyes. I stick around to watch the trainwreck ensue. I'm near universally derided on there, but I'm literally the only one that has a degree or has had any modicum of success. The most vehement in his weird ideals is this morbidly obese guy that runs an ERP chatroom that's centered on "girlcock". It would be funny, if it weren't so sad. Some people just never get off the fucking internet.

him and the rest of the polidicks crew are the cool kids club of knockout. I had an alt account in their discord and the daily worship of nasty troons and weirdos was too much for me
