There's a whole collection of retarded NPC phrases they incessantly utter that are completely insufferable and make you want to punch them in the mouth.

Kovarex has given them more than enough material to do so, but what actual pressure point would give? Steam? Visa/MC? I just don't see that happening. What force can they bring to bear to stop people who want to buy the game from buying it? A "grassroots" boycott isn't going to work here; most gamers don't care and those that do hate SJWs, and Wube must be sitting on a fortune already.

That's not to say they can't do enough damage to make some people uninterested in associating with him. This might have cost him (or Wube/Factorio) some book deal (lol), speech at a conference, pozzed award, collaboration, etc. I read FFF pretty regularly and I get the impression they just want to chill and make more indie vidya, so it's not going to matter, but if I'm wrong/that changes? Who knows.

Even if he/Wube are fine, I think it makes his setting an example of resistance less effective to those who aren't in such a comfy position. They're going to see not just whether he gets fucked or not, but the array of problems thrown at him, and picture how that would look in their position. It's not his obligation to play optics to own the SJWs but if he wanted to, he fucked up a great opportunity for it.

The main thing I think he doesn't understand (surprising given his point connecting it to local history that he doesn't understand the "enough rope to hang yourself" aspect) is that this shit doesn't go away, it accumulates, much like the biter evolution level. He let them create enough smoke to convince randos there must be a fire. There is a large army of biters^H^H^H NEETs ready to drag this all up in ten fucking years assuming they're still in power. There may be no pressure points now but depending on where he wants to go in the future, this could create problems for him, or his company, or his family.

They may have a point about how naive he is honestly. This is entirely his fault for continuing to engage and letting them make him look like a fool. He could easily have humiliated them and avoided this, not to mention spent less time obviously angry online, and if they actually do collect his scalp I'll be laughing at him even as I seethe and cope.

i think it's because factorio is extremely well liked by players.
i've mentioned it before: this game has the second best review ratio of any major game on steam. to put it into perspective, this means it gets better reviews from gamers than even uber popular GOTY titles like fucking witcher 3. people really really really love this game, so writing a hit piece against the devs would make a lot of people dislike you very much.

Keep in mind that kovarex is essentially the core of the Wube team and the driving force of all their future endeavors. The worst of it will be that it might cause some of their newer peripheral staff to bail. My bet is Sanqui, if anyone, but he's already protected his twitter and is laying low, which are good signs for "I/my friends will hate this, but I like my job here."

I really hate the "ya'll" spelling too. It's "y'all." Asshats. An apostrophe in a contraction signifies the omission of letters and is put where the omitted letters would be. "You" does not begin with "ya." Tbh any time I see some twittard/plebbitor saying this I see a crying soyak in my head.

None of them ever shared any specifics as far as I know. Uncle Bob is just "problematic" because he clearly doesn't share their beliefs politically. There was a blog post that people kept referencing that cited the evil he's done and as far as I recall it amounted to him not giving Grace Hopper enough credit during some talk, which he apologized for, and something about why women aren't in tech. Nothing to do with trannies yet people liked to link that.
