Fat Acceptance Movement / Fat Girlcows

There's a lot of good tea on glitterandlazers (Anna O'Brian). You can find her (now deleted) blog posts circa 2014 on the way back machine where she was desperately trying to lose weight and she auditioned for the Biggest Loser: https://web.archive.org/web/20140717105754/http://www.glitterandlazers.com/Blog/

As you mentioned, she slowly gave up on her weight loss goals, (she did actually almost get human sized for a brief moment) before completely giving up and gaining 125-175 lbs on top of the 50lbs or so she lost.

Somewhere around 2015-16 she started transitioning to a "haul" and "bopo" blogger and landed a job working at a Austin based marketing analytics company (the perfect company for a bullshitter) that allowed her to spend inordinate amounts of time and money on clothes and exotic "fat chick destinations" like Jamaica.

The infamous Jamaica video, where she proclaimed that she was "The Kim K of Jamaica" was her best LOLCOW moment to date and led her to "quit forwever" social media (lasted all of one week) and she then made a mea culpa video claiming she witnessed a murder in Jamaica and that is the reason she quit, not the ludicrous video where she demeans black Jamaican men and mistakes their desperation for a green card as genuine interest.

She deleted the original video but here's the "I'm quitting social media" cryface followup:

Since then she's only doubled down on her social media fame thirst, starting to do sponsored hauls and the classic FA "in the dressing room" vids. She got called out for misleading her viewers about sizing and had to issue another apology video.

As mentioned she pretends to excercise, but at her size there's no way she does anything but a slow job for 500 ft and some stretching. Here's a ludicrously sped up video she did for a chub rub company:

The distinguishing feature of most LOLCOWS is of course a complete lack of self awareness and the best moments are when Anna interprets someone making fun of her as a compliment. In her latest video she knocked a table over at a restaurant with her ass and an employee (presumably black from her stereotypical description of said employee) started slow clapping while repeating "that ass" and it went completely over her head that the employee was laughing at her, not with her.

There's a lot of great stuff on her youtube for those interested, the "how I became cruise famous" is a good starting point for how insane an opinion she has of herself:
I feel sort of disgusted by the way The Biggest Loser hooked her up to a sciency numbers machine and then didn't fully explain what the sciency numbers meant, leaving her with the impression that she needs almost twice a realistic daily calorie allotment. No wonder she's so fucking fat when the scientician man's machine told her she shouldn't eat under 1925 kcals per day without a doctor's supervision. Unless she's 7 feet tall, that's still way too fucking much for a sedentary middle aged woman who only does light exercises for the pictures.

Damn, I don't know how tall she is, but I wish more people knew how much calories your average short/average height sedentary women is supposed to be getting, the "2000/day" thing is such bullshit. No wonder so many women are obese when the average meal portion in the US seems to contain most of your daily allotment of calories.
At 5'2", :powerlevel:when I was fucking medically obese :powerlevel: (though just barely), I maintained at around 1700 calories. I should be eating around 1200-1500 to maintain (not lose) a healthy weight without regular exercise - and real exercise, not just "oh I spent thirty minutes slowly moving while reading my phone on an elliptical, I'm fit" exercise.

Or that not all calories are created equal, for that matter. There's a reason it's often recommended you track macros (fat, protein, and carbs) rather than just calories, after all (and even within that, not all fats and carbs are going to do the same things for your body). A person can be overweight just because they eat terribly in general, not just because they eat too much. But what's always pushed is "just eat less; continue your shitty diet but just eat less of it", and it's no wonder so many people who try that just feel miserable and hungry all the time and just go right back to their old lifestyle. I think a lot of these types who claim long-term weight loss is impossible really don't know what a real, healthy lifestyle change actually entails; they were just fed (...lol) the "eat less of the same crap you always have" idea and, of course, they crashed and burned.

The "lifestyle change" part is key. You can't just go back to you old ways, which seems pretty obvious but it's where a lot of people slip up and where the "95% of diets fail in the long term" thing comes from.
And yeah, a calorie is always a calorie in terms of the fact that if eat less than you use you'll lose weight no matter what it is - it's just way easier when eating certain kinds of food than other.
I didn't realise how addicted I was to sugar. About two weeks after cutting way back on things sugary things and switching mainly to unrefined grains I was no longer just craving bread and pasta and other carbs all the time, but actually enjoying food, and feeling so much better. I'll still enjoy pasta and sugary snacks once a while, don't get me wrong, but in moderation, and it's nowhere near the huge sacrifice I thought it would be because my tastes were so screwed up by my unhealthy palate.

Sorry, it's something I feel strongly about because there's so much misinformation and fad diets out there.

Did they say something like "to be your current size you need to be eating X thousand calories per day to maintain it"?

Yes, but it didn't clarify anywhere that her estimations were inflated over what a normal person would need due to her obesity. She of course took it to mean that she was right all along :hambone: and really would be starving at 1500 a day.

I think I can fit in one of her legs Jesus fucking Christ

You have to watch this video where she goes on and on about how much she's dating but how she can't share any of it because she's famous and doesn't want her dates to know she's famous. LOLWUT? She is a minor Youtuber at best. Her IG is small potatoes as well compared to some of the more popular FA / Haul accounts. None of your dates are going to know who the fuck you are sweetie unless they are a twentysomething 400lb chick into FA.

And oh yea, you aren't actually dating. We can see your old videos where you talk about how hard it is to meet guys, even online, at your size.

She is fucking delusional I'm thinking soon she's going to have another "Kim K of Jamaica" video. She's getting really cocky again. She lies so easily on camera as well. Going on and on about how she "isn't the angry fat girl" and is always 100% happy and content. Oh STFU you're human for starters. Well, at least you were 200lbs ago.

She sounds like she's trying not to cry for those last 2 minutes.
