What happened to the featured thread automated system?
I reckon it's gone because about a week ago a closed thread was on the front page for at least eight hours (12? 16?). It sometimes seems a thread remains featured days after the excitement came to pass. Only with an automated system is it easy to know where the excitement is at any given moment.
If the intention is to put an end to incidents like "Dr. Fanta's own Kiwi Farms thread", I object wholeheartedly. Such threads are fun. Evidently I'm not the only one who feels that way, considering such threads would frequently accumulate 20 pages worth of posts in a day.
