I dug back into the board a bit to make sure there wasn't one of these already but if there is sorry for that up front. Basically the positive edition of the Coping Thread, for the good shit in life that helps you cope with the bad shit. You got that promotion you've been waiting for at work? You found $20 on the sidewalk? Good date? Share away.

I recently moved in with a friend and have been able to feel just how much better everything is since. I also got to fix the busted oven that had apparently been out of commission for upwards of three months. Saved us a ton of money (£20 part versus god knows how much for calling a repair guy) and now I can actually cook half of my food properly. Also as an added bonus, cats.

I cleaned my house while listening to music, which was fun (and my house needed it so it's fantastic going through it while it's still so clean), then drank some green chai tea with milk and sugar. Green chai is amazing and really made my day. If that's not feel good, I dunno what is :).

I called my assistant manager a little pussy bitch to her face the other day, then told the store manager today that he's an ass. Felt really neat to finally tell them what I(and many others) think of them. I get bonus points too because ten minutes later he gave me a promotion and a raise.

I met my baby niece for the first time the other day. Bonus, she didn't shit all over me or anything.

It is incredibly satisfying to pull that off. At my old job I once put a supervisor in a headlock - he got a reprimand for starting the altercation and was forced to apologize.

Well, for starters, I'm on spring break. I'm almost done with the first chapter of my current WIP (not Redesigning Eva), and I had a great lunch with my parents in a nice pizzeria roughly eighty miles from my hometown.

I feel less shit-tastic about my quantitative methods class, and I haven't had any additional job applications rejected (still no callbacks, though). Spring break is next week, and, although I'll spend most of my time studying for my comprehensive finals, it'll be nice to not have to worry about showing up for class or work.

I just finished up a review on a musical I seen last Saturday. Typing it reminds me of the time I spent on making game reviews years ago. I'm thinking of getting back writing on a blog. I still got it in me despite not typing anything like a review in years.

The last few years have been somewhat difficult, and there were a lot of lows. But the other day I realized that for the first time in a really long time I'm happy, and that I wake up almost every day now really looking forward to the things I have planned.

I also got an email letting me know that my package from Saint Petersburg has finally been released from US customs. (I was convinced that It had become someone's favorite foot-stool at the customs office and that they were never letting it go.) so that's cool.

I'm also eating cake frosting straight out of the can right now. That's a thing that's happening.

After three three years of studying it, I haven't been feeling like my Japanese has gotten anywhere; but today an article about my teacher appeared in a Japanese newspaper that I happened to be in the interview for as I was having class at the time. The reporter complimented me in the article for how well I speak - considering I failed the JLPT in December, I'm feeling kinda ecstatic. I'm also really proud of my teacher :)

I'm going to see my family in Charlottesville, VA later this week. I haven't seen my friends and family for over three years, so I'm fairly excited.

(Before anyone asks, No, I have no intention of engaging OPL at all. No trolling plans, no pictures, no "Christorical" tours. Sorry, gang.)

I splurged a bit today and bought a bunch of art supplies, mostly lino printing stuff along with new dip pen nibs and some sculpting stuff. I also got to sperg a bit today because for my course we've been wandering around the local museum's exhibitions/collections, including an extensive range of taxidermy birds. The assignment we were given also requires us to draw a LOT of something we've chosen in the museum's collection, so that basically translates to being able to draw a lot of birds all week.

Also in the realm of adulthood, I bought a refrigerator. Woo?
