Despite the degeneracy of the community the concept does make me wonder how would humanity treat creatures like this if we made them.
Probably a lot better than the comic levels of torture and suffering depicted. Depends on a lot of factors like how cheap they are, and if they are actually breeding in the wild and retaining their ability to hold conversations. The core concepts are unrealistic without unprecedented technological advancements.
And I imagine google would actually be the ones to do it and even after they get released the company and other companies would keep making them.

Yeah I think sadistic people would still be around but in the minority and keep what they do behind closed doors because people still love animals so add them talking would probably make them protected. I definitely think in wet markets people would eat them and once again companies that make them would take no responsibility for if they get out of containment and breed in the wild. In fact they would sell engineered predators. They could make a interesting background element for a sci-fi story showing corporations are now interfering with life

In a strange way fluffies are similar to the book version of Frankenstein
I actually did write something akin to this not too long ago.
By the way, I've been thinking of how fluffies could be more viable in a realistic setting and here's what I came up with.

-Better survival instincts and a bit smarter.
-Fur is actually used for warmth.
-Muscular and skeletal strength increased, although earth ponies are a little bit stronger.
-Pegasus fluffies use their wings as intimidation/mating similar to that of peacocks.
-Unicorns on the other hand use their horns for the same as above as well as fighting akin to deer or rams.
-Alicorns are still feared not because a fluffy can't understand it but because it's a combination of all the previous three traits making them the ideal fluffy. Consequently they're also found as leaders in a herd.

Feel free to discuss about these ideas.

I also asked Claude to see how likely the fluffies in the original "lore" could affect the global food supply, here's what it said.

Fun question, and the answer is genuinely interesting because fluffies were more or less designed as a walking invasive-species thought experiment.

The case for yes: The canon gives them r-strategist stats that would make a rabbit blush — gestation measured in weeks, litters of several, sexual maturity almost immediately, and an indiscriminate appetite for grass and basically any crop. If you take "doubles every three weeks" at face value, a founding population of a thousand hits the billions inside of eighteen months. And there's real precedent for the underlying mechanism: rabbits in Australia peaked around 600 million and did serious, lasting damage to pasture and topsoil, and desert locust swarms have pushed whole regions in the Horn of Africa into food emergencies. Small herbivore plus exponential growth plus no predators is a legitimately scary combination.

The case for no: everything else about them. Exponential curves only matter if the organism can actually cash them in, and fluffies are canonically among the least survivable creatures ever imagined — they freeze at the first frost, they're too stupid to forage well or flee, they have no defenses, and they die of what the lore treats as sheer emotional distress. Very high fecundity paired with near-zero survivorship is just a population that churns, not one that conquers.

Geography seals it. A huge share of the world's calories comes from temperate grain belts — the Canadian prairies, the Russian steppe, the northern US, northern China — all of which have winters that would wipe out a fluffy population annually. They can't fly, can't swim, and can't cross an ocean, which is exactly why locusts can threaten a region and rabbits couldn't threaten a planet. And unlike an insect swarm, a fluffy is slow, conspicuous, and trivially killable, which is the entire premise of most of the fiction written about them.

Verdict: within their own setting, a regional agricultural crisis in a warm temperate zone is very plausible — think Australian rabbit plague, with commodity price spikes and localized shortages downstream. A true global food shortage is unlikely; they'd be an expensive nuisance that gets contained in the places that matter most for calories.

In our actual world, of course, the probability is zero, since the only thing fluffies have ever successfully consumed is bandwidth.

Unfortunately, something brought me back to this.

Unfortunately, I have found AI generated realistic fluffy abuse. Dystopia now.

Unfortunately, I played that Fluffy Industries game someone posted last page, and unfortunately, it's very entertaining. You can even just be nice to them. How do we make @ Null play this on stream?
