Feedback Forum Sign-Ups Closure for CWC?

Now that Chris-Chan breaking in mainstream news it's leading many new people to the farms, because they just heard about CWC this weekend. A lot more new people than usual are shitting up threads. Last year, Null closed the forum sign-ups for a week when Reddit did its mass purge/banwave. Can we do that for this week? Or is the idea to leave the sign-ups open on purpose with all the free advertising?

EDIT: Mods could just temporarily category ban the people who spam/bait in the CWC/Gunt happening threads. It's mostly newfags, but a few people who apparently were lurking for a year or two are also being completely retarded.

I'm in two minds.

On one hand, KF has been inundated with retards shitting up the CWC subforum. On the other hand, keeping signups open might help flush out others that are either directly involved, or associates of those who are, and can add new information (particularly to the events leading up to this whole shitshow). If anything, it would be interesting to set a limit that your account must be X numbers of day old before you can post. Although that would effect when cows see their thread and immediately come to sperg out.

I suggest to put up a banner notice for leaks to go get verified immediately and message staff. With that said, maybe limit the sign-ups in some other way, like a 24-hour wait to post. Since this is the epicenter of all Christory, there's no chance the forum isn't going to be flooded with idiots.

The week long probationary period would work, but in conjunction with the ability to post sooner after verification with staff that the newfag is a real source of some kind. Or perhaps the mods can post their info for them.

Josh does have an email address that he openly presents to outsiders, though relying on this as a means of accepting a scoop could be messy with all of the other emails he's likely getting. A new email address for information submitted by outsiders that is accessible and managed by all staff seems to be a more timely, practical and merciful solution. With this in place, it would be completely viable to close registration entirely and please for the love of god delete or freeze all of these newfag accounts.

I personally don't give a fuck if a few people think it's funny to see the same retarded reddit takes posted over and over again, these threads already break who knows how many forum records without them. It's been impossible to keep up with these events in real time. None of us have Magichan ESP powers to know which posts are worth a goddamn to read until we've already wasted time reading them, because shit comments can get good ratings and good comments can get shit ratings. There are countless posts worth reading that are in between the highlighted posts.

Regardless of the decision made or not made, many of us would appreciate it greatly if any jannies would volunteer their time to delete repeat posts, off-topic posts, pointless posts, etc. The banning of gendersperging newfags would also be a wonderful contribution to the sanitation of the board.
