Argentina needs to wake up, that kind of performance will not be good enough against the Netherlands.
This is how Argentina win though. They do just enough to beat whoever is in front of them. They keep moving on and just beating what is in front of them without worrying about who is next. I don't think you should read much into this other than, Argentina won

Well it's too soon to say anything (i'm a firm believer that you can't have favorites until halfway of the round of 16) but for a world cup that was so convoluted in group stages, i think the quarter finals would be quite straightforward. Sure, Pelé could die right now and kill the mood of the whole brazilian team and we still have time to see a European team shit all over the bed, but so far no surprises or anything to indicate that there will be. Argentina vs Netherlands, France vs England, Portugal vs Spain and Brazil vs Croatia seems just right.

I think france will get this one

I am scared shitless against them
When France are playing with a lead they're so dangerous. They drop back a little, absorb some pressure and hit Mbappe on counter attacks. That shit is definitely scary, hopefully a good team like Spain can deal with them cause no one wants to see a repeat. Especially when it's the french

I prefer to watch france win again than the english.

England just scored second goal but I have more hope for senegal to equalize than poland against france.

The english team is super overrated, cant wait for them to lose against france

its coming home innit

So Senegal were a giant fucking let down. France will probably destroy them. I thought Senegal would have enough pace and ability to expose England's shitty back line despite Southgate doing everything possible to play defensively. But France are looking amazing right now. They just need a decent back line and someone to blow up the midfield so they can get the ball to either pacey winger or Griezmann. And if that fails, just launch it up to Giroud who will give it to one of them. And if the wingers can't cut in and shoot, they will just cross it to Giroud who is deciding he wants to actually score on their run this time

It's worth noting that the score was 1-0 at the 43rd minute mark.
I decided to check British Twitter and #Itscominghome is trending at #5.

The English never seem to understand that hubris will generally always be punished by the universe eventually.
I remember last World Cup they were already saying ICH when they were still in the group stages.

They always say it when they are doing well. What’s always been amusing to me is the loathing of the English team in England from lefties.

The kneeling doesn't stop lol.

Now will the bongoloids kneel to the FRENCH next lol.

I seen this clip posted on /sp/ to show how bad the defending was from Team USA.

And some of the anons were mocking the one basketball american, who tries to press the dutch guy but doesn't go for the ball in the beginning of the clip.

The build up was somewhat reasonable considering how exhausted that midfield was. But the goal was entirely on the 2 centerbacks. Either Zimmerman or Reim needs to communicate and mark the one forward in the middle, push Reim onto Robinson's guy so Robinson could mark the guy on the back. Just watch number 3 and tell me who he is marking in the middle. Or what he is even doing? God so frustrating that we are playing an MLS defender while Carter-Vickers is just right there to be played and won't be shit
