In 1992 Hannover 96 won the DFB Pokal while being in 2nd Bundesliga and they played the following year in UEFA cup winner's cup or whatever it was called while still being a 2nd tier club bc they fucked up the regular season.

No, Portsmouth were relegated and nearly won the FA cup meaning they would have been in the Europa League and the second division at the same time
Wigan actually did win the FA Cup and get relegated in 2013, qualifying for europa group stage and playing it in the Championship. They finished bottom of their group of shitters, but that's what you'd expect

Awaiting West Ham to win Conference League and get relegated to replicate this

You know, if Haaland is only going to score 5 goals a game, then he is going to have to put in some defensive work as well. Just not having an overall good game
I know you're joking but he was more involved in the build up play today. Let's see if they can keep that up, they were starting to look a bit stagnant.

I like how Pep subbed him off before he could break Messi's record. I remember some of those goals in that game against Leverkusen. Absolute worldies.

He scored two goals within 80 seconds or so and scored five goals in total. What other record is there to break? Wtf did Messi do when even 5 goals aren't enough???

I am guessing Guardiola wanted to save some of those goals for the weekend. Can't lost an FA cup tie to Vincent Kompany's Burnley

Lol, it was a little over 10 years ago when Messi was at the height of his powers. He scored 5 goals in a champions league game against Leverkusen, so Haaland tied that record today. You can watch the highlights from that game here where Messi is putting on a clinic. I believe that was the year he scored 50 league goals and over 70 in all comps.

Luiz Adriano also scored 5 goals against BATE Borisov back in the 2014/15 season. It is clearly the least impressive of the 3 but he did do it

There’s rumours floating around that Pep and Haaland don’t get along very well. Apparently Pep didn’t want Haaland in the team and Pep just ignores him during training. They’re probably just rumours though.

In December, I would have bought these rumors. After the Joao Cancelo incident, I don't buy them at all. Plus Julian Alvarez would have been playing way more if Pep didn't like Haaland

Concacaf Champions League madness: even with 10 minutes of added time in the 2nd half, Austin FC wasn't able to overcome Violette from Haiti, losing on aggregate 2-3.
I'm relieved Philly are through to the quarterfinals. Atlas is next.

Imagine not being able to beat a team that most likely subsists on literal mud pies. Murrican footy will never not be an embarrassment to the sport.

FIFA fucking about and changing the World Cup format again. With the increase from 32 to 48 teams they were originally going to do 16 groups of 3, now it's 12 groups of 4 with an extra Round of 32 thrown in. That means instead of the 80 games originally planned it's now gonna be 104 (up from the 64 of the last WC). According to FIFA this better for the fans, and definitely not because they realised how much more ticket revenue they can get from having 60%+ more games.

Benzema back in the starting XI for Madrid. Lolverpool bout to get wrecked.
