I am a Chelsea supporter but this season looks like a battle between Liverpool and Arsenal for the top spot. Man City seems off and Chelsea is just way too inconsistent. Palmer is talismanic though. Fantastic player.

Has Luiz played a minute for Nottingham yet, or is this part of some bizarre money laundering scheme?

Liverpool are escaping these games by the skin of their teeth. Against Arsenal, that's a good thing. Against Burnley, its not good. Its hard to figure out how good they will be in the second half of the season.

He started their EFL cup game against Swansea City. Got about 62 minutes in so I am thinking they are still trying to get him back in shape

Ousmane Dembelé is this year's Ballon d'Or winner. Opinions?
Its going to take a while before we get back to a normal Ballond'Or standards after Messi and Ronaldo just scewed everything. Dembele is a reasonable choice and him winning doesn't upset me. Personally, I would want a Ballon d'Or where you get a full squad. Make these glorified bloggers create a team of the 11 best players that actually fit into a system, so they can't just create a 2-3-5 system. But the award is voted by the French, so I don't expect anything smart

Bit Off Topic but what do we think of the fc26 cover stars my theory is ea signed a deal with Bellingham last year because they thought he would be a bigger star lol

For the non brits among us (me): How important to the clubs/fans is the League Cup actually? Which cup is more important, the FA cup or the League Cup?

FA is infinitely more prestigious than the efl cup, but for teams outside the big 6, a trophy is a trophy and they're glad for either

Most non-big 6 would favour the financial benefit of prem survival over a good cup run, sadly

The way I have seen it, teams in the european places or trying to get into the european places, will not take the cup seriously until about the quarter finals. So their youth/back up squads get some game time in this competition and if they keep winning, they get more game time to play. Once it gets to the quarter finals, some teams start looking at this competition as a way to get into Europe and potentially save a shitty season

Ange is in a spot of bother. I love him but I don't know what was going through their heads in the forest board after his last season at spurs.

England squad announced, I can understand leaving out Bellingham he hasn't been that good at Madrid and Foden hasn't been amazing but why leave out Grealish it seems like his move on loan has given him a huge morale boost after pep let him rot on the bench

Shoutout to Qarabag FK. They are 1 of 6 teams (Bayern, Real Madrid, PSG, Inter, and Arsenal) to have 2 wins out of 2 in the champions league. And these weren't obscure teams either, they beat Benfica in Portugal and Copenhagen at home. Their next 2 matches are Bilbao in Spain and Chelsea at home. Napoli, Frankfurt, Ajax, and Liverpool round out the rest but if they keep up this performance, they could potentially make the knock out rounds
