It get's worse. Minnesota subbed out to it's B team for the second half and still kept a clean-sheet and got an extra goal.I know it's just a friendly, but getting obliterated by an MLS side? Oof. Everton and Fulham have to be early relegation contenders.
I think they'll be the ones to panic buy Harry Winks and maybe loan in Billy Gilmore. Juan Mata is currently free and embodies the deadwood midfield they are currently operating. With all the Ukrainian pandering Everton is doing as of late, scoop up Yaroslav Rakitskyi for the defence. He's also on a free after the war broke out.I would be more worried, if I were Everton, about only bringing in a single Burnley defender. Got rid of Richarlison, Cenk Tosum, El Ghazi, and Delph among others and haven't brought anyone in. The either need to bring in a player or they will be sitting bottom of the table.
There is the obvious claim that the window is still open and they can bring in more players but you also risk the players you currently have looking to jump ship and avoid a relegation battle.
This just screams relegation battle. Going into a World Cup in November, why would Calvert-Lewin or maybe even Pickford want to struggle with this. Richarlison left to try and keep his spot in the national team. While there aren't any specific rumors yet, those 2 could easily leave all of a sudden and go somewhere betterI think they'll be the ones to panic buy Harry Winks and maybe loan in Billy Gilmore. They barely stayed up as is and with next to no budget (apparently) the best they can do is these sort of transfers. Calvert-Lewin was a targeted choice for Arsenal until his injuries, but I could certainly see him switch for another mid-table side if he finds his form again. Pickford is in a tough spot and might not even be contending for the starting spot if the team's form continues to dwindle. Nick Pope's presence will be amplified at Newcastle, Ramsdale has the Arsenal buff and Dean Henderson has been loaned in as Forests No.1. And that's just the starters. Back=up's and third choice rotation players like Tom Heaton and Fraser Forster are still apart of the Premiership. This just screams relegation battle. Its tough to hear but if they have no budget, they should be looking to sell players now. This is the highest those players will have value and might as well start rebuilding a squad that maybe can compete. Or at least bringing in players that have the relegation clauses in themThey barely stayed up as is and with next to no budget (apparently) the best they can do is these sort of transfers. player Manager Ben MeeSubject of free agents that Everton should have considered, Burnley's former captain Ben Mee is a Bee. He has joined Brentford within hours of the rumour circulating and turned down two other Premiership sides to join.
Not only that, but will probably play every game he can. Good run up to try and break into the England squad before the World CupJesse Lingard has picked Nottingham Forest over West Ham as his new club, on a 1 year deal allegedly on a 80k/w deal that goes up to 120k/w.
Can only imagine he's been given a colossal signing on bonus for that
He probably had the best patch of his career before the last Euros and Soufgate still didnt pick him, doubt any heroics at Forest will get him in contentionNot only that, but will probably play every game he can. Good run up to try and break into the England squad before the World Cup
He was brought back into the England squad in March before the Euros with his play at West Ham. Idk if he would fully breakthrough at West Ham right now but he certainly is playing every week with Nottingham ForestHe probably had the best patch of his career before the last Euros and Soufgate still didnt pick him, doubt any heroics at Forest will get him in contention
He is 29 and going to be 30 in DecemberGood player that young Lingard, just needs more time.
Gametime and probably bonus payKinda strange he didn't go to West Ham, but maybe he got promised more gametime in Nottingham.
There is way more behind the scenes that will probably play out in the next few months as to why he went thereWest Ham was challenging for European football last season and he rejected them then. Now he's going to recently promoted big spenders? Odd
