Which made me look up the biggest score ever… turns out it was a fixed match. Not sure if that counts.

Women’s World Cup starts today. I honestly don’t mind women’s football but holy fuck they whine about everything - now that their pay demands are getting met they’ve shifted to ‘women’s ACLs keep snapping because of patriarchal sports science’ and of course the client media is there to back them up at every turn.
Yeah, I feel that.

I didn't mind it back in the day, but now they really amped up the "equality" bullshit up to eleven. This kind of shit makes people turn away from the product far harder than they attract. I know I won't give them the time of my night (not day because time zones).

How are you going to justify paying shitloads of money to a bunch of amateurs whose level of play is abysmal, and whose attendance is dwarfed at microscopical levels compared to the men's teams? How can one ignore the vast physical differences between men and women when it comes to prowess and proneness to injury? Do they think this is yet another instance of "just throw money at it" kind of problem, because it worked so well with other serious issues?

Also, as much as Globo and the government try to present this World Cup as the most important thing ever to happen to women here in Brazil, I see no one commenting it on the streets, no one planning to watch the matches in congregation while boozing and having a good time, no streets decorated with the national colors, nothing. Maybe because all ads promoting this WC come off as pedantic and whiny, with all the reminders that the girls earn far less than the men and were literally once prohibited by law to play footy all the way until the 70's, oh woe is them...

Fuck that shit. If I were a woman, I'd prefer playing volleyball or practicing MMA. Our women got excellent results in these sports and never once complained of unfair treatment nor had the media conjecture an entire astroturfing campaign to force their acceptance among the masses. They just went out and won, showing excellent prowess and inspiring women to follow their aptitudes naturally with their own efforts. That is how everyone earns respect, and I don't see why it should be different for football.

I will probably browse /sp/ for any clips or pictures of tall women bullying short women.

You know USA will win this one, its basically their farmers league (farmerettes league?).
Not sure. The US team is hurt and old. There are some other teams that actually are better than them

@DSP's Tax Lawyer opinion? I know nothing about this guy.
A pretty solid defender at right back who, if still healthy and doesn't have age catching up to him, will outrun everyone on the field. I know highlight videos don't show the complete player but just to get an idea of how fast this guy is on his day, I would check this out. Would be kinda scary to see him and Davies as outside backs just flying down the wings in a 5-3-2 or a 3-4-3 with them on the outside

Mbappe left out of the PSG squad headed to Japan. PSG wants to cash in because insiders report he wants to move to Madrid on a free.

Update: Rumours have it that PSG are now thinking of offering him a 10 year contract for £865m. Jesus fucking christ.

Anthony Elanga goes to Forest

Riyad Mahrez to Al Ahli

Who knew the Saudi league would be the new meme.

On that note the player's union are whinging because paying him millions to not play is bullying or something:
Paris St-Germain have been accused of "moral harassment" after leaving Kylian Mbappe out of their pre-season tour of Asia, and the French footballers' union said it could take legal action.

PSG's all-time leading goalscorer has told the club he will not extend his contract, which has 12 months left.
The club want to sell Mbappe, 24, now to get a fee but Mbappe plans to stay until the end of his deal.

The France forward cost PSG £165.7m following his 2017 move from Monaco.

After Mbappe was left out of the PSG squad going to Japan and South Korea, a National Union of Professional Footballers statement said: "These players must enjoy the same working conditions as the rest of the professional workforce.

"The UNFP feels it would be useful to remind managers that putting pressure on an employee - via the deterioration of their working conditions, for example - to force them to leave or accept what the employer wants constitutes moral harassment, which French law firmly condemns.

"The UNFP reserves the right to take civil and criminal action against any club that behaves in this way."

Mbappe has been a key player for PSG for six years, scoring 212 goals in 260 games, and winning or sharing the past five Ligue 1 Golden Boots.

He helped France win the 2018 World Cup and scored a hat-trick in the 2022 final defeat by Argentina.

He had been widely expected to join Real Madrid for free at the end of his last deal in 2022, but surprised nearly everyone by signing a new two-year deal at PSG.

After deciding he will not extend that deal any more, PSG believe he cannot remain part of their playing group.

Chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi has said it is "impossible" that Mbappe will be allowed to leave for free in 2024.

Former Barcelona boss Luis Enrique replaced Christophe Galtier as manager of the Ligue 1 champions this summer.

Zaha to Galatasaray. What the fuck? I know he wants to play Champion’s League football but going to the Turkish league for 3 years just to get knocked out of the group stages in Europe seems like the dumbest fucking thing I’ve ever heard. Such a sad ending for a good player. The Turkish league for fuck sake, that’s where you go when you’ve fucked up everywhere else.

Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal have permission to speak to Kylian Mbappe after making a world record £259m bid for the Paris St-Germain forward.

The 24-year-old France captain, who has a year left on his contract, has refused to sign an extension at the French champions and was not selected for their pre-season tour to Japan.
PSG want to sell Mbappe now rather than see him leave for free next summer.

Neymar's £200m move from Barcelona to PSG in 2017 is the current record.

PSG activated Brazil forward Neymar's release clause to make him the most expensive player in the world.

Should he move, Mbappe will have commanded two of the three highest fees paid for a player after joining PSG from Monaco for £166m in 2017.

Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham, Inter Milan and Barcelona have all expressed an interest in Mbappe, who has previously said he intends to leave PSG for free at the end of next season and is believed to prefer a move to Real Madrid.

PSG are open to the idea of Mbappe leaving on loan this summer to see out the final year of his contract elsewhere.

This would allow him to join Real Madrid for nothing in 12 months' time, keep playing this season and generate a loan fee for PSG.

Chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi has made clear his determination to take a tough stance and there have been suggestions Mbappe would not be selected for an entire year if he refused to break the present impasse. That eventuality would clearly have a negative impact on his hopes of playing for France at Euro 2024.

Al-Hilal are one of the clubs owned by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund. They have already signed Ruben Neves from Wolves and Kalidou Koulibaly from Chelsea this summer.

Twitter is losing it's absolute shit over this. There's posts going round suggesting a €700mil salary, although that seems to be a misunderstanding and the salary is "only" €200mil, with the rest being the value of commercial deals with Mbappe keeping his image rights. Absolutely fucking wild either way.

It seems like at the moment there's been no talks between Mbappe and Al-Hilal directly. A lot will depend on whether or not they'll let him go to Real Madrid next year the way he apparently wants to. If they do, and if PSG really are gonna play hardball and not give him playing time if he stays, then I could see him taking the deal. However I can't see even the Saudis being willing to spend €500mil to get him for one season, especially given how many other decent names they could get for that kind of money.

FC Liverpool had a friendlies match against Greuther Fürth today.

The match ended 4:4 and it was only bc of Salah that Liverpool didn't lose as he scored the 4:4 in the 89th minute.

If you have never heard of Greuther Fürth: Fürth is the neighbourtown of Nuremberg.
Last season Greuther Fürth played in 2nd Bundesliga and they ranked 12th. The season before they got relegated from 1st Bundesliga with one of the worst seasons a team ever played in 1st Bundesliga.

Sorry, stupid Jersh can't notify me of this thread so if anything gets hit here that was already done just say I am late and gay.

Wrexham beat United's U-21 team in the US. Considering most U-21 teams can compete in League 2, should be a good sign for them

Mctominay and Maguire may be potential targets with that Rice money. Honestly wouldn't be a bad signing. West Ham need to stop buying these players who operate in a different system than what Moyes runs. You can sit Maguire back to play long balls and let Mctominay just beat up people in the middle.

Inter Milan might be replacing Onana with Emi Martinez

Elanga finalized his deal to Nottingham Forest

Women's world cup news (feel free to ignore)

Ireland have been eliminated from the world cup after 2 games. Somehow, they did better than the men's team have done in over 20 years

Zambia are on their third string goalkeeper

The US tied Holland in what I can only hope is some cracks in the armor. Nothing more I would love to see than the blue haired SJW and a few of her fellow leftists crying after losing in the round of 16 or quarter finals of the world cup

If Brazil doesn't win this shit, they'll never win it ever.
