I don't know why everyone feels like its a coveted job. There are way better jobs in Spain, let alone europe that are better than Madrid

It must be the prestige and resources. You were chosen for the "top job" in world football. You're the belle of the ball. But what does it do for someone's legacy like an Alonso? How does it move your career forward, even if you win? If you're coming in like an Ancelotti or Mourinho, you already cemented your legacy before you stepped foot into the Bernabeau. You're just there to manage egos at that point, not a football club. Even for someone like Zidane. You come in as an unproven coach and you just so happen to strike gold with the crop of players at your disposal and go on a generational run, and now you've been jobless for 5 seasons for all your troubles because no other job has the quality of players or money needed to continue living up to the expectations that are now placed upon you, so you're stuck in limbo.

Alonso is too high class a human being for a club like RM. He's someone who deserves the utmost respect for his playing career and his coaching accolades in his short time in management. He's above needing to shine the shoes of men without a backbone who cry when they get subbed off because they're shit at their job in that moment but the club tells them they're a princess, and should be treated as such. He needs to go somewhere where he can build something in his image like he did at Leverkusen, and where the club will back him over the players. At least now we'll probably see him in the Premier League, which is cool. Wherever that may be.

Yes, I do hate Real Madrid, how could you tell?

I think Zidane is just waiting for the France job to open up so he can go there. He would have taken the Juve job if it was offered I think but right now he is eyeing up the France job where he can manage the egos of these players some more

I wish he went to a club like Roma, Lazio, Fiorentina, or a different club in Spain. He could have sat there this year and the next year while Slott gets more and more pressure on him. He could have waited for him to be fired so Alonso could go in as NOT the guy who replaced Klopp. Would have been nasty there with Liverpool resources

We are 3 matchdays into the 2nd half of Bundesliga* and so far Frankfurt got a 3:3 against Dortmund (catching the equalizer in the last seconds), lost to Stuttgart 3:2 and now tied against a Bremen with literally no striker 3:3. Catching 3 goals on average is the stats of a team facing relegation. Our goal difference after 18 matchdays is 38:39. 2nd worst defence with 38 goals caught so far but one less game played is freaking Heidenheim who are 18th out of 18 teams and whose squad has a networth of like 2 million euros or whatever.

Why does God hate Frankfurt so much?

*This weekend the 2nd half of the season started. Last two matchdays (16th and 17th) were still officially part of the first round. FC Bayern became "Herbstmeister" (Herbst = autumn, meister = champion; aeons ago the first round of the season ended in late autumn) in mid January bc of how fucked up the schedule had become with all the competitions.

As Real Madrid manager, you have to realize the players, directors, media and fans are always out to get you. They get pleasure in destroying you. You be too relaxed you might last longer but eventually the team stops performing and you're sacked. You be too disciplinary, the players all start leaking stuff, they cry to the board, they cry to the media, then you're sacked. That's why Eddie Howe is the perfect fit for Madrid.

My plan to get Arsenal to win the title by making penny bets for the teams chasing Arsenal and making penny bets against Arsenal is working out really well. City have tied or lost every game I bet for them to win. Same with Villa

I dont think the draw sets them back but it would be funny if this is the start of the bottling

It would be. Fortunately for them Citeh has never fully recovered from their extraordinary dip in form last season, and Liverpool hired a con man. But we shall see; the Premier League has a funny way of shitting out twists and turns.

The fun twist would be watching Arsenal pull away with Villa taking clear second and then having 3rd place through 15th separated by 10 points with like 6 games to go. Just watching City, Liverpool, United, Chelsea, Newcastle, Brighton, Spurs, and a few others sweating out a chance to play in Europe next year
