I'm starting to think Trump isn't taking that FIFA Peace Prize seriously.
Giving American president peace awards is always a bad idea. Should have seen that in 2009 but whatever

What is up with Premier League teams and being shit in the first leg? I think the best of the 6 teams was Arsenal just because they are coming home with a 1-1 result. Newcastle on the road with a 1-1 isn't great and neither is liverpool going down 1-0 but playing at home. Otherwise you have 3 goal deficits for all 3 teams. Granted, they get to play at home but I don't think that is going to matter

Playing Kinsky, a goalkeeper who had only played in meaningless cup matches prior to the CL game, against Athletico when he barely has any experience at that level is insane. He definitely should have done better but he never should have started over Vicario to begin with.

Also lmao at Van de Ven chastising him for slipping that led to the first goal only to slip himself and cause the second goal not long after. :story:

Dear Jesus, I'm not asking for much. Just for a draw at Anfield and a 0-1 in London. That'd be really, really hilarious.

Personally the funniest outcome would be Spurs being the only English team progressing.

I'm now at complete peace with my beloved Newcastle going out so might as well hope for the universe to do something really fucking strange.

It would have been even funnier to see West Ham win because they would have jumped over Spurs in the relegation scrap and helped Arsenal towards the title. Just bury spurs at this point
I really dont see City being consistent enough to capitalise on any mistakes you make now, gg on the title

As long as if spurs go down and we stay up, that's 2/3 for this season

Don't underestimate our ability to choke away a trophy

Of the current teams in a relegation scrap, I think West Ham are in the best position tbh. Forest have the toughest schedule, probably followed by Spurs. Leeds might have a slightly easier schedule but Nuno has you guys playing much better. I am worried about the Arsenal game against you guys as well so hopefully you guys are safe by then so we can win with no worries :)

So in the Bundesliga, Bayern have run away with things. They had to play Leverkusen yesterday, and they were down to their third goalie, Sven Ulreich. He hadn't played for 500-some days, but they managed a 1-1 draw at the home of Bayer... on 9 men.

Dortmund pull to within 9 points, but Bayern would have to have a record-breaking collapse to give up that lead on the table. Losing all your goalies doesn't help.

Oh, and Sven got hurt in the game (reporting now is he's out 6 weeks with a muscle tear). Bayern's 4th goalie is already out for the season. Their #1 (Neuer, old) is out through the international break. Their #2, Jonas Urbig, got kicked in the head (no card) on Tuesday in Bergamo and had a concussion. So.... it's possible on Wednesday night in Munich, in the UCL, Bayern will start one of their two academy goalies, Jannis Bärtl (19) or Leonard Prescott (16). Bayern had a 6-1 over Atalanta, so that should be enough of a cushion to advance, but it doesn't make things easy.

There's also been some chatter about how poorly the game was officiated, but that's a tale as old as time. There was a shit second yellow on Luis Diaz, but nothing to be done about that.

Looks like FC Bayern starts with their 4th goalkeeper Prescott in the rematch against Atalanta bc Neuer hasn't fully recovered yet, Urbgi got concussed in the last seconds against Bergamo and now Ulreich got injured in the match against Leverkusen yesterday.
Plottwist: It would be Prescott's debut match and he his only 16 years old.

Edit: Got ninja'd about this news. Wtf lol

So the bottom 6 in the premier league didn't move thanks to all of them drawing. Since a draw is somewhere between a win and a loss, I figure I would rank them in terms of how the results go while we wait on the champions league tomorrow

1st- West Ham. At home to title chasing Man City who were either looking for a bounce back game to prepare or looking ahead to Real Madrid mid week, this was a huge result for them. They will still have a tough run of games to finish the season, but everyone does in this league. However, outside of going to Aston Villa and hosting Arsenal, I don't think any of the other fixtures come close to this one

2nd- Tottenham. I would have put this higher than West Ham considering the Spurs form and need to break up the mood but in all honesty, Liverpool aren't great and when looking at the rest of Spurs fixtures last week, this game seemed like the only one where they would have pulled off a Spurs and won. That's how I broke this tie breaker. Still have a huge game next weekend before the international break

3rd- Crystal Palace. Nobody gains ground on them and there is now 24 available points to catch them instead of 27 (21 for Wolves). They also kept Leeds from Potentially closing the gap to 4 points and dragging them into an actual relegation scrap. Since it looks like 1 team out of 4 is going to go down, Crystal Palace keeping a slight distance helps out a ton

4th- Wolves. They won't catch the top, but they are playing insanely good. Coming back from down 2 on the road to European chasing Brentford is a huge accomplishment and they might have a say in how the relegation plays out since their next 3 opponents are West Ham, Leeds, and Spurs. They also end the season with Burnley so they might finish 19th

5th- Forest. A home draw to Fulham with no offense whatsoever is pathetic. If they can't get any offense going then they would be lucky to finish the season with 4 more points and would surely go down.

6th- Burnley. They are going down and they aren't giving their fans a good show for it. 0-0 at home to Bournemouth is pathetic. At least go out 3-2 loss with a comeback attempt

Oh this is fucking juicy.

CAF have decided to nullify Senegal's AFCON win and award a 3-0 win to Morocco. Their main reasoning being that Senegal effectively forfeited the game when they walked off the pitch. This somehow took them 2 fucking months to decide.

Bodo going down without a fight, sad.
Honestly, would have preferred to play Sporting over Bodo. The first leg in Norway is way too scary to think of how much they would have had to come back from and Sporting will play out, which will hurt them against Arsenal.

Speaking of, never really in doubt at home. Real Madrid kind of exposed City and PSG just put belt to ass on Chelsea. I am looking forward to the Real Madrid vs Bayern game but whoever PSG play will get a whooping
