GDC 2015 - Valve show

Valve is having a show on March 3rd, 3PM PST. Supposed to be showing the new Source engine, and a few games running on it, to my understanding.

Let's cut to the chase: You think we're going to see Half-Life 3? Hell, maybe even Portal 3 or L4D 3? Seems like they're at least poking fun at the whole 'VALVE CAN'T COUNT TO 3' thing.

It's just a hunch, but I've a feeling that valve have been waiting for a significant shift in the industry before they announce Half Life 3, and I reckon this shift will be VR.Gabe's been one of the proponents of Oculus Rift from the get-go, and It's been announced that they're partnering with HTC for their own headset.
I may be well off base with this, but I just feel that they don't want Half Life 3 to be just another fps.

The speculation started in earnest yesterday with this BBC article, which incorrectly claimed:"Valve is expected to provide more details about the [VR headset] launch at its own presentation at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco on Tuesday."

People got way too excited over nothing. They just wanted to unveil their V/R headset and people blew it out of proportion.

People are also blaming Valve for this. Nevermind they never claimed they were revealing anything, they just wanted to hold a press conference and people automatically thought it was a Half Life reveal.
