Most things by Taurus are garbage.
Yeah but they tend to be cheap guns which are okay enough for people looking for a home defense weapon during the current planet of the apes situation. Likely why you're seeing shit like this.

I actually prefer the way Taurus revolvers look over (modern) S&W. At least they put the lawyer lock somewhere you won't notice it 99% of the time.

Alright, back on-topic.

Man, I love Forgotten Weapons, but Karl has kind of soured the whole thing for me a bit. Watching Ian talk at length about some old ass gun that barely anyone knew about before his video on it is comfy as hell. I also loved hickok45's videos until he came out as an elitist. Life just kinda sucks sometimes.

You know the reason S&W revolvers still have Hillary Holes is because S&W owns the company that makes the locks. They're essentially double dipping. Also, why go through the expense of making new dies and molds without them when people will buy the product regardless?

Plus, spergs will pay extra for revolvers without them. It's unfortunately made dudes in their 70s severely overvalue their revolvers on the secondary/collecter market. You want to see autistic rage? Tell some dude on the S&W forum his collection of revolver Pokemon is only actually worth half of what he wants for it. These are the same people who complain that younger people don't shoot revolvers.

In the area of core Ian/Karl sperging, it's interesting to note that Ian did a video at the same match where Karl was noting the S333's performance, for his own channel.

He also calls the Curve garbage, which it is, but he notes rightly that he's firing it in un-broken-in, un-reoiled condition, fresh from the box, so that can have an impact.

Of course he also notes that that is exactly what most people would do with a Curve, using it for the very first time in a defensive shooting which is also bad. The video is also worth it for the last stage.

Taurus has always confused me. I can definitely agree that almost everything they make is junk, but my favorite handgun I own is an old Model 82 I bought at a pawn shop for $80. Thing looks like it was dumped in a lake after a murder, but I've had zero issues in all the years I own it. Pleasant to shoot in double or single action and dirt cheap to plink with all day at the range. Now I'm carrying it with me when I go hiking or fishing.

All that being said, I wouldn't touch anything else they make with a ten foot pole.

They've got iffy QA kind of like Ruger, but unlike Ruger, the support process if you have a problem is a fucking nightmare, and their designs are generally cheaper. Your reaction is perfect, bad companies can make good stuff.

As I've been reporting, the Inrange Discord has been a bit of a kerfluffle recently. People leaving due to Karl's views, etc, etc.

The most recent debate involved Karl insisting that the vz.58, a Czech rifle, is in fact a Soviet gun because it was made for a Soviet caliber while under Soviet occupation. This argument has some flaws which are technical, but it seems Karl fell into the trap of the 58 looking like an AK but it's reeeeeally not. It's a high bar to overstate Soviet domination of the Warsaw Pact, but Karl found a way. Well, the mods and Karl got upset that people, you know, called him on that, and he's noping off the Inrange Discord entirely. Jannies and Karl very mad, reports indicate.

Is it really that technical? If a gun was built and designed in say Latvia pre 1989 it would be a Soviet weapon because Latvia was part of the Soviet union. Czechoslovakia was never part of the Soviet union, though it was part of the Warsaw Pact.

It's silly because the history of Czech weapons development is best understood by drawing a line between the Austro Hungarian empire period - inter war independence - and then as part of the Warsaw pact. In each period, no matter who was in control the arms industry was innately Czech. Trying to describe it as Soviet isn't just technically wrong, it's fundamentally wrong.

If you want an example of this look at the history of the 7.62x45 mm Cartridge the Czechs adopted for several years before the Soviets dragged them kicking and screaming into adopting 7.62x39. They always had a distinct way of doing things.

You're right, absolutely. In fact, I've argued that make the 52's operating system look like an AK was maaaaybe a bit of a middle finger to them. Part of the problem with my post is I was originally informed it was the vz.52 that was being argued about and I had to edit it when I was told it was the 58.

Wait. Karl RQ'd his own Discord?
Yep! I've been handed the post by the lead Janny:

Amusingly, the Farms is namechecked in there. Hi, Karl! Or Bane. Whichever.

Yeah, getting super serious and implementing harsh rules against "shit posting" will surely bring in thousands of new members and totally not drive away anyone who has a sense of humor and isn't a fucking turbo autist.

I wonder if Karl the Kuck called up Sarah Noir to cry and complain about the meanie chuds on his discord only to find out she was getting dicked down by one of her other boy friends.

Holy shit that post. Every line is gold.

I guess Karl followed his own rule then.

Not only does he rage quit his own server but that mod post just reeks of Karl screaming about 'the trolls' behind the scenes. Imagine trying to act like an expert on shit and then immediately leaving and sending somebody else to yell at everyone when you end up being wrong.

L o fucking l! The farms getting named dropped proves how fragile this dudes ego is. This thread is very tiny and has like maybe 20 people who regularly look at it and post on it. So having his janny bring it up is hilarious.

What's really worse is this thread isn't even super negative, not by KF standards at least. Most of the people in this thread seem to be either former fans of inrange and got turned off by Karl's sperging or are current fans who are annoyed by Karl's sperging, no one here seems to really hate him. Hell the threads not even technically about him, it started about Ian. Karl only comes up so often cause he's always being a smug cunt on Facebook so much.

On the subject of Taurus... It seems like it really depends on the product. It seems like they're getting better, lately, too. I think it would be optimistic to call them "redeemed", but I've heard a lot of surprised "Huh, this actually isn't awful" reviews of their more recent production. Even a few genuine "Huh, I actually like this" reviews.

The Curve is a fucking monstrosity, though. I got to handle one. Once. The trigger was the most awful thing I think I've ever felt. Didn't even bother shooting it.
