Is it wrong that I genuinely hope the Russians wipe them all out? Just to thumb my nose at the globohomo. There really are no good guys in this conflict despite what the media propaganda says.

I hold out hope for at least one more pick axe compilation with the eternal redditors getting guts rearranged/removed by Wagner Group.

no military is going to give some rando an assault rifle untill they have some confidence in his abilities.
The Ukrainian government handed out rifles to their citizens. Hell even the Russians handed out Mosins to rear guard troops, if you can't trust them with an assault rifle at least give them something. If you try to detain a saboteur while unarmed that's a great way to get shot by a concealed Makarov.
Any former soldier would have just shrugged and done what he was fucking told.
How many former soldiers you know? Because most either make a big deal out of being a veteran, or think "this are the kinds of fuck-fuck games that convinced me not to reenlist in the first place".
The kind of person who'd go to Ukraine to see action or to fulfil dreams of glory has something wrong with them.
The kind of person who'd go to an active conflict to roleplay a shitty frat initiation is a psychopath. Ukrainians are running actual bootcamps, might as well tell these people to do a basic bootcamp first instead of skipping them to service but treating them like kids. It's a half-measure.

A few years ago there were talks of US-made AKs being sold to the DoD, IO and Century stepped up. Can't find if those contracts ended up being bid on.
Bushmaster made M4s to be sent to Georgia. The Russians captured them in 2008.
I know for sure the Army used WASRs for foreign weapons familiarization training ~2005. The pictures were in a Soldier of Fortune article but I'm not digging through my pdf archive to find one pic of a PFC in ACUs shooting a WASR. Here's a dropbox some arfcommer put together of all the issues up to 2012 I think.

James Yeager is going to do James Yeager. Though, James Yeager is a complete dumbass. He is the prototypical reality TV guy. He is willing to go to Ukraine and fight for the Biden family income. A chance exists that he will die of ALS or a bullet in the back of the head in a Russian prison. He is pursuing this option with a lot of vigor.

Ukraine just wants dead Americans. Always remember a Ukrainian is nothing but a Russian by another name. Dead Americans might get America involved in a war America would otherwise have no reason to be involved in. The people who are going over to Ukraine are self righteous assholes acting like the thing they hate, World Police. They are trying to drag America into this war.
I am waiting for Western Europe to be flooded by Ukrainian arms being sold back across the porous borders because why not. Western Europe was already blaming the Balkans war for all its violent crime, now Ukrainians have something to sell. Think like a Ukrainian. Store or shoot Stinger missile or, sell said Stinger missile for cash to either leave Ukraine or have retirement money for after the war. Based on thirty years of past behaviour, sell the bitch is the probable choice. The same will go for all kinds of war material. I personally believe this is when the narrative in the media will start to change to less adventure time and more seal the borders.

Nah, nobody cares. Plenty of dead Russians working for Wagner killed by the air support called in by US SOF in Syria and nothing came of it.
If anything American volunteers actually helps deniability if a True & Honest American operator gets killed or captured, everyone's going to pretend he's a volunteer.

Yeah, "volunteer" is about to become the new "security contractor" for when some cool guy gets killed or caught doing something.

Ukraine wants American equipment. The "foreign legion" only exists so no one can say "see? Ukraine is doing so well they aren't accepting help anymore" and close the taps on international aid, it's not going to be consequential at all in this conflict. Having a whole battalion of American idiots who can't speak a lick of Ukrainian, can't even read Cyrillic and think war is like in Call of Duty volunteering to fight for Ukraine does the Ukrainians no good. But a shipment of top-attack ATGMs or radar-enabled long-range AA missile launchers? Shit their own troops can use? That's a lot more useful to them. (ETA: also, American intel. None of which requires Americans to be in Ukraine.)

Ukraine has plenty of Ukrainians willing to die for it. If anyone wants Americans to die, those are the sycophants here who say we need to start getting directly involved. Setting up no-fly zones and all that shit.

To be fair, they kinda have to have at lest some Americans over there, if only just to ensure that US equipment is actually getting over there. There's also going to be a lot of westerners from different governments and observers from companies like Thales who want to see how their products are holding up to a real war.

Sure, but that's different from sending soldiers to fight there. As for observers and commercial liaisons... sure? We've had people observing basically every single brushfire war since World War II, this is nothing new. The media is also there voluntarily, no one gives a fuck. A few dudes making sure Raytheon's latest creation shows up unscathed in Lviv without the Poles stealing it is nothing. Flying sorties or sending military units to Ukraine? That's a no.

Battlefield observers have been a thing since at least the days of pike and shot warfare, if not earlier.

No, dead Americans are actually a better way to win than equipment. Get Nato directly involved will work faster and easier for Zelensky than anything else. If Nato gets involved they will bring all said equipment with them and the training to use that equipment.

Here is a propaganda piece about one dead American:

Here is another one:

These two dead Americans could have left and should have left but, they stayed for their own personal reasons. The propaganda pieces written about them are nothing short of demands to intervene in this conflict.

No, how about you?

Just a typical gun conversation.

Do you need to talk about your feelings? Maybe you are distraught about me making fun of the guntubers you want to suck off?

I think you need a glass of warm milk and someone to tuck you in. You get grouchy when you're up past your bed time.

Don't forget that people would show up to early civil war battles as tourists to watch. Like the battle at Bull Run.
That used to be a lot easier back in the days of well-behaved lines walking towards one another. Alas, since WWI war is more a matter of shooting at everything that moves and dropping explosives on everything that doesn't.

The writing had been on walls long before as to what tactics would fit technology, but the romance of marching in line and dying with all your buds has traction. Robert E. Lee has been harshly criticized in some circles for being a stickler for Napoleonic doctrine when injun-style ambushes and hit-and-runs would have been far more effective against Federal supply columns.

Which is perfectly true I just felt like pointing out that battlefield observers are almost part of the human condition, so it's funny to me when the news and whatnot try to portray them as evil.

Sleazy, is your marine mammal seal shaped ass butt hurt? Are you still trying to find your friends? Sleazy, I hate to break it to you but, all your friends are imaginary.

I have to ask the real question. Why are the globohomo bitches turning this thread into another fucking Ukraine thread? Do all you failed abortion fuckups feel threatened in those other threads?
