General GunTuber thread

The WWSD rifle is definitely a niche product, but the KP-15 lower is actually kinda popular. They're cheaper than an aluminum lower + buffer tube + stock + grip, so they're pretty handy for tinkerers who assemble their own rifles. Also you get a flared magazine well. Those usually cost extra on aluminum lowers.

When going to the range, I've seen a decent number of people with KP-15s, and a couple of people have remarked on my KP-15. The highest serial number I've noticed is in 30,000s, and the product came out in early 2021, so they're averaging sales of 50 a day. That seems like it's reaching an audience beyond InRange fans and gamer gunners.
Karl's politically retarded, but he does tend to mostly know his shit when it comes to guns. Ian and Phagan are also incredibly knowledgeable and attached to the project. Ian's whole channel is built on seeing why guns failed and became forgotten weapons. The KP-15 is a solid product for 99% of people, 99% of the time. If you're very tall or short, or if you need something you can drag through hell, maybe you need something else. Otherwise, it's fine.

This doesn't account for people buying multiple lowers. I wouldn't be surprised if some autist thinks he needs a super light weight "recce" rifle.

It's all about getting laid, that's why these guys go out of their way to be the biggest ally out there. He's your garden variety loser that hopes that women are going to swoon at how brave he is on the Internet but the best he'll get is some 5/10 used up whore who needs a cuck to "settel down with" so she can dom him. He'll be getting fucked up the ass by some tranny while he watches he girl get nailed by her boyfriend if he's not careful.

That's assuming he hasn't bought his own bullshit. Virtue signaling is a full time job and you can't pick and choose what cause you fight for because that's a one way track to getting canceled and labeled a "TERF".

That's one theory, the other is that Deviant (and Karl for that matter) are right in the middle of the venn diagram of libertarianism, tech and guns. There's a fairly large number of retards and perverts in all those groups, so being in the middle of all of them is a recipe for disaster.

I suppose that fine if that's what he's into and he's happy, but fuck me if it isn't pathetic.
He's married and his wife is even more of an unpleasant cunt than he is.

Yeah, as goofy as the WWSD rifle is, the actual lower itself seems like a product which is here to stay. It has its cons but also its pros. The question is when another player will come out with their own monolithic plastic lower, at least I'm hoping for that because I'd like to see different takes on the concept.

He's said his share of retarded shit about guns.

Who, Ollam's? I can believe it, but any stories?

Nothing I can come up with off the top of my head but she's your typical "OMG just got cat called" whiny Twitter bitch. Her face is an almost perfect rhomboid and her chin looks like she pokes holes in mattresses, I know she ran for public office in Portland a while back too.

It's not really that big of a deal, and he didn't really seem to actually care that much. He was pretty chill mostly, we'd disagree but it wouldn't be a massive spergout, he'd stand up for his friend and we'd negrate him, and that was that.

That'd be interesting to know, but I would cry bitter tears at seeing a transferable M2 grenade. Maybe he could find someone with a post-sample one who's willing to carry out the experiment. Given the insanely high pressures, and the M2 having probably a less strong lockup than the RN-50 (the screw plug turned out to be ridiculously robust), I'm betting the bolt and chamber would be shrapnel.
Which is exactly why, I imagine that the rear, bottom and front would all see fairly significant shrapnel fly out. I mean the death of an M2 would certainly be very cry worthy.

I could imagine it not being survivable at all unlike serbu's design. Serbu certainly has garnered respect for how he's handled this without turning to raging/alogging.

There any validity to Ian and Karl falling out aside from Ian no longer being apart of InRangetv to focus on Forgotten Weapons? That always seemed like a perfectly valid reason to me.
As far as I know. Ian or Karl have not given a reason for the separation beyond what they have said that Ian needs more time for Forgotten Weapons. There is always theory crafting about it, but again they both haven’t said anything but the original statement.

They still seem to be in good terms in the rare times they do interact publicly, and Ian currently has both Forgotten Weapons and his book-writing gig to deal with. He is one busy beshorted pornstache'd boy.

Why a lightweight rifle is a "autistic" idea?
I've worked construction, retail, hiked a lot, after some time you realize even a phone in your pocket makes a difference after a day of work.
I doubt a under 10lb rifle is bad, it's not like you're firing full auto all the time to heat up a pencil barrel to make a difference anyway, and nor will any subsequent heating of the barrel make a big moa shift for a cartridge that has trouble above 500-700 yards.

Ian has gone more and more "mainstream", with contacts all around the world, he doesn't need a satanist cult faggot screaming on twitter being associated with him when he tries to get himself inside a classy auction house or a public armory museum in Europe.
He's said his share of retarded shit about guns.
What? His clickbait mudtests where he always makes the magazine full of dirt and then screams about anything other than Stoner's design being full of crap?
That's all that comes to mind to me.

Comes off as marketing bullshit. Also, I still have no idea what in the world "recce" is supposed to stand for
It's Internet spergery, *and* marketing bullshit. Recon Rifle

It basically boils down to having a lightweight rifle, 16ish inch barrel, reliable, and has a decent middle range optic like an LPVO.

The idea itself isn't autistic, just the dumb fat fucks who pretend they're operators and stress over shit like that.

It stands for Reconnaissance, it's literally there in the article if you actually read it.

And yes, it is marketing bullshit towards the tactictard demographic.

I can't recall which video it even was now, it was many years ago, but one which was etched into my brain for how SHOCKINGLY fucking retarded it was, was him insisting that DA/SA pistols are unsuitable for most people because "the way" that you use a DA/SA pistol is that you always decock the hammer after engaging a target so that you would always have a DA pull to contend with every time you needed to engage a new target.

As if nothing fucking else was possible or feasible.

I wonder how much he was paid to shill the Nu-Power that's heavier, has no compatible parts, a polymer guide rod, aND YOU CAN GET AN OLD ONE ALREADY BIGOT IT'S A DIFFERENT PLATFORM THAT SHOULD STAND ON ITS OWN

When your shilling focuses on "It doesn't bite me" and "It's got 17 rounds! also hollowpoints work!" you'll be losing a lot of people. What possessed him to do this? Is it buyer's remorse? Is this the amhole situation where he's trying to force himself to enjoy it while suckering other people into buying it to suffer with him?
Also that rear sight looks terrible.

It's Ian.

It's a new toy.

Do the math.

Also, I'll admit that way back in the Cretaceous period I traded away a Hi-Power because I got tired of the bite. I want my guns to hurt only the bad guy, damn it.

Honestly looks like an alright pistol overall, except for how it's fucking ugly. I like the option of a steel framed single-action pistol in 2022 which isn't the 1911 or stuck to a low capacity. Of course there won't be even a fraction of the options you have with a 1911.
