They got his name and from there got his wife's name, and found a photo of them together with some other people. They may have posted his home address or something because one of the tweets was already deleted when I looked at the thread.

The twitter account that originally dropped the "exposé" has been retweeting the dox constantly whenever he gets the chance. Looking at this tweet in question I wonder which one he's talking about

I wouldn't be surprised if Ian has gotten hundreds of emails about this though. Pretty sure he wouldn't respond though. I know I wouldn't if I were him.

That last bit is what makes me press X the most on the email. He's shown excellent knowledge of when to keep your goddamn mouth shut.

It might make sense as a leak from someone he trusted.

Doubt it. The email's signed "A deeply concerned supporter". I sincerely doubt Ian's held his tongue this long just to start venting to emails from random internet jackasses.

Pretty sure the email itself is fake, but it probably is pretty accurate to how he feels about the whole affair.

Yeah, I'm not really buying it. Why would he keep so deliberately quiet in public, but then make that sort of big revealing post to some random yahoo over email?

Ian's email is also very publicly admin@forgottenweapons.com. Unless that one literally just redirects to his personal email (presumably ianmccollum@gmail.com), which is a fucking stupid idea considering the unbelievable amount of digital correspondence having over a million followers/subscribers anywhere generates, it won't be a legit email. I don't know, maybe he is that kind of boomer, but I find it unlikely given he's not tech-illiterate and he puts so much emphasis on keeping his private life separate from his work.

(Karl would have also told him very early on to not do it, either.)

True, and that's a drawback with a plastic lower, (an acceptable one to me, but that's subjective of course). I would expect that for the kind of kaboom where the blast comes out into the magwell, it would plain split open if it's plastic, but I want to see better images of the receiver as a whole to get a better idea.

I have always found it funny that gun shills always market their frames, devices and accessories as "polymer" as saying they are made of plastic has negative connotations.

You can't say plastic if you expect to market to boomers, just like you don't want to advertise that you use Metal Injection Molding to make some parts, that's absolute boomer kryptonite.

I've always got the sense that Ian is a bit of a snake charmer and was able to make things work with difficult people.

He really kind of has to be, given how he wrangled Karl decently enough, until he went fully off the deep end, that is.

Arfcom seem to be heading into O&A territory with some of their shit. I think any more screenshots using Arfcom as a source just need to get binned.

I think it's a bit nuts that a high profile arms manufacturer even owns a message board, which may at one point in the future have to undergo some scrutiny from hostile activists.

I found the tweets regarding his doxx, I won't repost them here(his wife is prominently featured) but its a typical leftie who is mad that Admin is a Christian. They didn't bring up any of the spicy things hes said/posted. Just that he's a Christian and therefore "Lucas Botkin with a gym".

Doxxing Admin doesn't accomplish much. The people he works with obviously know who he is and the content he makes. They're more off the meds than normal if they think exposing a Guntuber for believing in God will accomplish anything.

Sometime in the late 2000s, into mid 2010s, retailers and media companies started buying up forums of the customer bases they were hoping to market to. REI bought a rock climbing forum for example. It made sense for Brownells to buy a gun and marksman enthusiast forum since that is their primary customer base.

The only issue is when they refuse to course correct bad behavior on the site because they are afraid to rock the boat or create controversy. Not to say Brownells was in the wrong with Karl’s sperging but gay op faked email messages needs to be taken care of it; it’s an extremely bad look.

Agreed. One other point is always be suspicious of something telling you what you want to hear. The email """from Ian""" was what the arfcommers wanted to hear, specifically the 'it's his ego, not about rights' bit. See also: Ralph's attempts to troll the farms by faking some trouble in paradise. (Even if there's a core of truth to that)

Once again, anyone wanting to can "confirm" my "leaks" by having a burner discord account and $5 they don't mind throwing at the IRTV Patreon. (Which, by the way, there's now a splinter group for the people who were only there for 2GACM discussion and think Karl's a fag now.) I took full dumps of the relevant channels, but signal to noise on that is really low.

Your comparison of arfcom to the OnAlogs is pretty apt, though. At least unlike those guys, arfcom doesn't sperg out about the farms and Josh when something doesn't go their way.

I was going to try to raise an argument here but... you're actually completely right. I think the father-in-law still has an old-ass Remington in his farm, I might actually buy it off him if the stock hasn't completely rotted through these past 10 years. Should be a fun one, and I don't think the wife would strike it against my gun budget since it's a family gun.

Guess I should thank Gun Jesus for reminding me these Remingtons exist.
