I think you hit the nail on the head with this comment. TRex Arms succeeded because Lucas was the face of the company regardless of his lack of practical experience or knowledge. He came out with confidence and was relatable to a younger crowd of shooters and had an equipment company ready to sell to them. If you're a young and inexperienced shooter and want to get into tactical accessories, TRex Arms really was a one stop shop; you can get your first holster, rifle swing, battle belt, and etc without having to look elsewhere. I think experienced people forget how daunting it can be for someone without any guidance to buy their initial kit setup and holster. The comments are savage though. Nobody seems to be buying it at all. The occasional friend of the family attempts to intervene, but it's really a straight forward lynching among their customers.
They shoulda sold the company to Lucas. When your business is so closely tied to a single individual and your customers all appear to be buying because of their parasocial relationship with that individual, they really seem to have you over a barrel.
Presumably nobody's buying from TRex Arms because they've got a better/more reasonably priced product than other companies? If the comments are any indication, people were buying because they liked Lucas and now he's gone (and the overwhelming consensus is that his family shafted him) most people seem to be saying they won't spend another dime with the company.
I never bought any of their products so I can't say anything about their quality but I will say with confidence nothing they do is truly unique and whatever they sell, there is a company out there that does it better. Without Lucas's fans supporting the company, they've screwed themselves.
