General GunTuber thread

Someone mentioned it already but this is a failure on Serbu’s part. Vent holes have been a common feature on guns since the lat 1800. These were put in because case manufacturing was still iffy and if you had a case with a thin spot on the wall the gas would blow back in the shooters face and possibly launch the bolt. By giving the gas an exit it out of the way of the shooter it would prevent burns from hot gas and prevent pressure from building to the point that the bolt lugs shear.
As I have said before making the ears longer so they go back to the stock would also give them the strength to bend down instead of shear off. This would reduce shrapnel in the event of a catastrophic failure and also act to deflect the cap upwards away from the shooters head.
Modern ammo is so reliable I can see easily that this is just forgotten.

Nobody needs vent holes in an AR-15 chamber because nothing you can load into it needs vent holes. (Or so the theory goes, thanks AAC)

CRS watched Ian's video, now thinks he's a gun design expert and makes a clickbait video using Ian's exact words at times. I wonder how long before he turns into another version of Demo Ranch
He comes off as a dope more often than not, but he'll scare the shit out of people who even slightly believe him if only because he's snagging points from those more knowledgeable.
But it's still a ~$1,000 zip gun, I'm not entirely sure what people can expect from it.

God, I've been seeing people giving that stupid ass advice with the keys for years and years, and it's always seemed so incredibly stupid, I cannot imagine a worse weapon than one you cannot even support in your hand. Good to have it demonstrated on video how worthless it is here.

They're doing it wrong.

Considering the sheer amount of weight usually attached to the average woman's key lanyard, they could easily be used like a medieval flail.

But in all seriousness; I was taught that you pick one key (preferably long & double-sided), clamp it tight between thumb & forefinger, then slam that fucker repeatedly into any soft spot available, like a mini-shiv. Old VW keys are ideal for this purpose, followed by Toyota.

There is a video from last year of Karl and Ian messing around with late Cold War .308 SLAP surplus that's probably as old and of questionable provenance as the .50s Scott was shooting. Though I'd trust the strength of even a bubba'd converted Arisaka's action to take a potential kaboom better than that RN50 at least.

Yeah, 7.7mm Arisaka rifles were retarded strong, didn't P.O Ackley fail to blow one up even after plugging the muzzle and filling the barrel with powder or something? I've heard various stories over the years of bubbas shooting the wrong ammunition in them and the gun just not caring.

They're made out of superior Japanese steel folded 10,000 times.

As a nice break from SLAP rounds I bring you Gun Thot News

26-year-old outdoor brand influencer Sophie Swaney, who has over a million followers across various platforms, was arrested Saturday in Nashville after police say she was driving under the influence while in possession of a handgun and drugs. Her boyfriend, who was upset over a photoshoot, climbed out the passenger window while traveling on Charlotte Ave. and fell on his head, causing him to land in the trauma unit with a brain injury.

Metro Nashville Police responded to 5337 Charlotte Ave. at 12:41 a.m. Saturday, to an accident with injury. Officer made contact with the driver of the vehicle, Sophie Phelps Swaney, who stated she was driving and her boyfriend, Johnny Justice (who she publicly refers to as ‘Austin’), was in the passenger seat. As they were traveling westbound on Charlotte Ave, the couple got into a verbal argument, as Johnny was reportedly “irate” about an earlier photoshoot. He was so upset, he climbed out of the window of the passenger side of the vehicle on Charlotte Ave, and fell on his head, causing serious injury. Sophie would later post on her social media that “Austin” was in the trauma unit of a local hospital with a severe brain injury.

Sophia Sweeney told officers she had one Moscow Mule and one Michelob beer earlier in the evening and agreed to do field sobriety tests, on all of which she exhibited signs of impairment, according to police. She gave consent to search the vehicle and advised officers of a Glock 43 in the vehicle. Officers also located a small amount of marijuana in the vehicle during the search, which she stated she occasionally smoked.

I just can't believe how shitty the production in that video is. Even for being inrange. It sounded like it was recorded in a submarine.
She probably sent the raw video to Karl, having to work outdoors for a living & not spend all day in post-production or making autistic guntube commentary; but instead of working up anything better to help enhance their branding, Karl "Good Enough for Government Work" Kasarda just put a stamp on it.

The japanese had this weird thing where when they copied guns they tended to make them better than the original, like I forgot what its called but the jap version of the zb 26 etc. The japs had some real stinkers for weapons but on the whole they were exceptional guns.

Karl probably doesn't understand the first part of audio normalization or mixing.
