The Rusfor, in the early days, was mostly made up of /k/ommandos. Nowadays it's made up of people that aren't driven off by /k/ommando style behavior.

It is fun when you go with friends (anything is really) but even by yourself if you like hobo camping it can be pretty fun, I wouldn't waste the money on it these days but if I were I'd go NATO again, somehow you end up with more normal people when larping as the good guys (USA) and the gear is cheaper, The slavic milita dudes were pretty chill but airsoft in general is a spergy hobby.
RR was pretty ok back in the super early days, but by the last time I went in 2017 it seemed like that group had died and was replaced with oxides and troons.
Last time I went to a MilSim West event was I think 2014? It was a fag fest and I lost interest in airsoft more or less completely after that point with how expensive everything was getting. It can be a lot of fun but most of the community was just a bunch of pickmes and fags at the events I would go to.
