I was wondering why the shills started salivating over a random company I had never heard of. Behold the newest overpriced billet AR abomination.

Buying something turnkey like this is a surefire way to learn nothing about your firearm.

Can't wait for someone to send it to the School of the American Rifle so he can stick his autistic gauges in its holes.

why on earth would you waste money on an AR. PSA, S&W etc are just as good.

For your Average Joe, PSA or S&W AR with some adequate optic slapped on it is good enough for like 90% of all use cases.

But when you get into sports shooting or law enforcement/military, we end up in the arms race territory where every iota of reliability, performance and small mortgage worth of gizmos and optics ends up bridging that remaining 10% up. In these circles you don't want that PSA AR mucking up when the shooting competition is two way race.

Maybe it's just the competitions in my neck of the woods, but the guys who are willing to drop $4k on a competition rifle are also the same guys who weigh 300lbs and the most exercise they do is curling a hamburger into their mouths. I often see them get rinsed by 20 year olds running a poverty pony because those guys are actually able to spring between their shooting spots.

The cheapest models come in at $3k(complete with <$150 sig red dots), up to $6k for the rifle-suppressor combo.
I had skimmed a video and hadn't looked at the prices. For that price point I'd finally get one of V7's gimmiks that I've been salivating over for but can't justify buying.

I like his vids talking about how some AKs made by certain companies are absolute dogshit and how they built them wrong, but almost every other vid was some type of sneed about some guntuber drama that he definitely took too seriously despite saying he didn't.

I'd hunt him if it was legal.

Going into the woods to escape the modern world? Too bad, nigger.

Isaac Botkin did an interview on a small podcast about his side of the story. It's about 2 hours long but the TREX arms drama doesn't start until about 45 mins in.

Of course Ben has made a video covering it.

And technically FT did a stream on it but only the first hour or so is about the interview and the rest is just him playing Halo.
Interview summary in no particular order
Isaac says the reason they didn't respond immediately was because they wanted to protect Lucas. He also says they have info about Lucas that would cause the internet to pull a complete 180 on the feud between them and Lucas, but they won't release it cause they want to protect Lucas. Isaac will repeatedly claim he can't answer questions because he's protecting Lucas during the interview.

For the initial contract Lucas Signed with the Davids, Isaac defends that only the Davids had a lawyer with them by saying that Lucas was only selling like three holster a day at the time so he doesn't see why they'd need more than one lawyer present. Of course this raises the question of if it was such a small time business why involve lawyers, ownerships agreements and contracts in the first place? Did the Davids want to make sure they got their fair share of the profits of those three holsters?

fun fact: the original contract between Lucas, David, and David had an apostasy clause, where if any of the three were kicked out of their church (the one ran by the Botkin's father ) they would forfeit their share of TREX arms.

Isaac will do this a lot, where he'll try to dismiss Lucas' impact to the business. Bringing up how TREX was started in their parent's garage, and how Lucas would occasionally borrow tools from the brothers, or he'd borrow money from the sisters etc. It's all comes off as a very indirect way to suggest TREX was always a family business and that they were entitled to some ownership of it.

This continues as when the hosts during a question mention how Lucas was viewed as synonymous with TREX arms he isn't able to finish the question before Isaac interrupts to explain only people on the internet think that and the actual industry never thought that.

Isaac is asked about the prenup situation. For those who haven't followed this around 2019/2020 Lucas got engaged, according to Lucas his brothers didn't care for this or her and pressured him to get a prenup. This is interesting because it's the only part of the saga that Isaac says he wasn't involved in. Every other event in the drama between Lucas and his brothers, Isaac was apparently either involved in or aware of except this one. Isaac says he never personally saw anyone pressure Lucas but he thinks it's likely Lucas was actually the one who initially thought of getting a prenup and David Noor just said it was a good idea. Lucas responded by agreeing but only on the condition that the one unmarried David agreed to get a prenup too if he got married and that David and Isaac got post-nups. Since this was all to protect the family business and nothing personal this shouldn't be a problem, right? Isaac declares the whole thing "silly" but his body language and the tone of his voice shows he's still clearly pissed about the whole situation and having to get a post-nup.

Isaac claims the effects of Lucas' slander damaged the business and impeded their ability to be involved in various mid term primaries and elections they would've been involved with otherwise. Subtly claiming it's Lucas' fault more pro 2A politicians didn't make it into office this year. He's really vague about this and I'm not sure if he's trying to subtly signal towards Massie or just pro 2A politicians in general.

When asked to elaborate Isaac will claim the details are personal family matters. He does this repeatedly and on multiple different subjects, and it kind of defeats the purpose of the interview.

Giving Lucas' wife a job is brought up. Isaac says what happened was Kara didn't ask for a job but proposed a new position at the company for herself. This all very vague because Isaac just can't seem to remember what happened here. He complains they would've had to change the "org chart" for this, so he can remember some things, and that him and the Davids had multiple meetings in regards to this before sending this to HR and the CEO for an impartial decision. Which raises the question for me that if they had always planned to let the CEO or HR make the final decision on the matter why were they having meetings about it? It's worth noting that Isaac and David's wives both work at TREX arms. The podcast host follows up by asking if you didn't need the position she wanted did TREX arms make a counter offer for a position they did have? Isaac doesn't remember.

The furry porn thing is asked about but Isaac pretty much refuses to answer any questions about it under the guise of protecting everyone's privacy to include Lucas'. Again we are back to Isaac saying he can't answer a question because he's protecting Lucas.

The payout is asked about and Isaac says they've had multiple third party appraisers estimate the value of the company and what Lucas' payout should be but Lucas keeps rejecting the offers because they don't match Lucas' appraisal. When asked what the difference is Isaac says "a lot of things" and refuses to go into detail or explain what that means.

The hosts move on and ask Isaac if he has anything he'd like to say to Lucas, and Isaac sounding like he's on the brink of crying begs Lucas to "just call mom and dad" this last for about 2 seconds as when the hosts ask about the future of TREX arms Isaac is suddenly perfectly fine and sounds like nothing happened.

Isaac says they are moving away from having a singular charismatic influencer as the main marketing point of the company and he thinks the whole gun industry in general is moving away from influencers. Please forget that after Lucas left they tried to make that Brandon Wombat guy the new charismatic influencer face of TREX arms and it failed miserably.

This company started the same time Botkin senior was delivering sermons in their church about defending their family and homes because he was afraid of the Obama Administration. Keep in mind this is the same guy who packed up and moved his family to New Zealand because of Waco and Ruby Ridge. I always felt like the true reason for starting a tactical gear company was the family wanted to be militants and saying the real reason is outside the overton window for now. I think Issac has enough common sense to keep this to himself because if they openly discussed this, they would find themselves even more isolated.

This is why I say the company is actually Botkin Senior's because he seems like a control freak driven by evangelical zealotry.

I think this is normal. Divorce in America is a messy affair and if you have a family business or property with mulitple owners it does help keep things from being complicated. I too would get annoyed about a post-nup because you have to go to your spouse who has not left you and ask them to sign a document to protect your finances (and also go through them over the years to figure out who had what before the marriage). Any married man is going to be annoyed doing this especially if their marriage is already stable because its just a fight waiting to happen.

Maybe the most honest comment he made. They are now the laughing stock of the industry and at least when Lucas was around, there was no drama and they moved a lot of product. I do think it was more so candidates they liked and not so much they were 2A. They are circling the drain to irrelevancy.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is actually happening and I wouldn't publicly air this either. Don't talk about stuff that lawyers are currently hashing out especially with your business.

I think Issac isn't convincing but at the same time with the Stoeger video and Navyman's video of Lucas's claims, Lucas is an unreliable narrator. I doubt either side is telling the truth and its because the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

I'm looking forward to the day when the Botkins just disappear all together (that includes Lucas).

I think this is definitely the perception of the family in regards to TREX, and I don't think it's just the daddy with control issues. I think the whole family has control issues and that's both how this started and why it's still going on, it's not even about the money and never was.

Except all of that also applies to prenups too, the new spouse hasn't left either, it'd be just as annoying to sit down with your fiancé and legally prepare for a hypothetical divorce as would your spouse. All of this also kind of meaningless anyway since neither prenups or postnups are all that enforceable anyway.

100% agree you definitely shouldn't be going on podcasts to discuss ongoing legal battles, which raises the question of why Isaac did. At the two or three video the brothers have made about the situation, the attempted Brandon Wombat media circuit, Isaac leaving bitchy replies in IG post comments and now this they've actually talked more about this than Lucas has.

I agree about Lucas being questionable, I'm sure there's some rose tinted glasses towards his own behavior, but the way the brothers have behaved in all this is just all red flags to me. This interview is a great example, they want to get their side out and tell the truth but as soon as they get asked a hard question or for proof suddenly they remember they shouldn't talk about ongoing legal matters, or that's private or they just can't seem to remember. Lucas is an autistic dork who likes to hype himself up but the brothers are clearly lying about a lot.
