It did get me wondering how a G3 would've done, I'm surprised there wasn't one there though it was already a ridiculous collection of guns for what he was doing,
I'd imagine a G3 would do quite well honestly since it's mechanically simple and tends to chuck brass pretty hard anyways. The one problem I could foresee with a G3 would be if the bolt was getting hung up on the forward stroke since as far as I'm aware there's no way to slam a G3 bolt forward manually.

If only there was something, something mechanical that would, I don't know, assist it forwards lol.

No, I can't foresee such a device ever being useful in any scenario. In fact I posit that such a device would in fact only ever serve to make any bad situation worse.

The only times I've had a CETME malfunction that way (in any environment, but especially when cold/dirty), it was definitely operator induced; by riding the charging handle forward, or half-assing the HK slap, along with the rifle being generally filthy w/ grungy surplus ammo.

When the bolt would stop before locking up, my field-expedient remedy was to lightly bounce the buttplate off a hard surface. Hard enough to bounce the bolt back, but not enough to eject & attempt to strip a new round from the magazine.

Because of gear & difficult postitions/surroundings, doing so generally took less movement & effort than reaching forward & fully cycling the charging handle, along with not losing a round.

At least once a G3/CETME touches that first round off, generally nothing much is going to stop the rifle from cycling until it's empty.

and i think just dumping water on rifles to freeze and to expect to get a worth while test out of it is goofy.
The Alaskan State Police tested their guns by leaving outside for an hour and then bringing them inside for an hour, repeating this over a couple of days. That's how you get condensation and not by pouring water over the guns. He could have used a spray bottle to replicate it better.

And if you're going through heavy undergrowth or pine boughs with snow on them your rifle can end up looking like that first test as well if you don't shield it well enough. Really though the secret to preventing the worst of it is to keep a cold rifle cold and leave it outside.

During field problems I'd make my guys unload their magazines after coming in from the cold, especially if they were going to be warming up for a while. I started doing that after I saw full, dry magazines condense enough to soak through ammo pouches.

But the only time I'm ever halfway particular about lubricant is in freezing weather. For an AR or handguns, dry moly lube works fine; but if it's belt-fed, something Soviet, or the CETME, I still use the stuff I got issued.

He also didn't post a video on youtube today either.
He said he was doing 5 videos a week, but 2 were Q&A and one (Tuesday) was a patreon only book review, so Instead of 5 gun specific videos a week, only 2.
Off days are Thursday and Sunday.
He said he was too busy renovating the website and doing his book deals.

Here is Bartman383 the mod who will ban you from /r/guns /r/ar15 or any of the other subreddits if you offend him, talk about him, post something he doesn't like, ask a stupid question (like good brands of AR15s) and will stalk your post history. Lastest scandal was that he apparently bans you if you post a AR15 on AR15 that is not tacticool enough. Also seems to be online at all hours so he obviously has no live for the wife and kids he claims to have. he has a all around shitty attitude..... and he does it for free.

Yeah this guy goes to fag clubs with either a black or brown bandana in his pocket.

He looks like a gayer Lt. Dangle.
Turbo aids Dangle.

Anyways to throw my 2cents in about ice and rifles I don't think the test was realistic but it was fun. In reality if you go through frozen ice you won't be thinking "I wonder if my rifle will function after this". I've seen guys elk hunt with SCARs in artic conditions and never have an issue. As everyone has already said lube choice and other factors matter.

That said as an AK owner I'm tickled pink.
